My brother and I like to play games online every week or so, in lieu of been able to actually spend time together in person. We're not into playing with strangers, we'd rather just hang out the two of us.
So far we've played through Portal 2 and We Were Here, both of which were ace. We now fancy a decent shooter.
Any recommendations? Something like Halo back in the day I guess. But online instead of splitscreen.
Online as in, both in separate locations?
Is "A Way Out" available on PC? That'll be right up your ginnel I reckon.
Yep, we used to meet up for film nights and such but obviously can't at the moment.
I'll check that out, cheers.
I'm in a similar situation with my bro so watching this with intrest. We've gone down a slightly different route and been playing RTS games either on the same side or vs each other, absolutely loving Company of Heroes.
We've dabbled in a few shooters but found that most ones with coop are deathmatch style rather than playing through a storyline. There must be some out there though! Counterstrike Global Offensive is free and you can set a game up with just you and bots.
As a curveball Raft is a nice casual time sink, a world to live in whilst chatting rubbish.
Yeah a fun shooter with a storyline would be ideal. Not heard of Raft, I'll have a look.
Cracks knuckles.....let me help.
Borderlands, two is universally agreed to be the best, three is also good.
Its like a shooter with rpg character building elements.
The Tom clancy Ghost recon stuff is also fun.
Me and some friends do IL2 as a group, but that's a PvPvE WW2 flight sim, so probably a touch to involved.
We also play deep rock galactic - which is a 2 to 4 player co-op FPS against the computer. Which is a good laugh.
And Vermintide 2, which is similar but different, and GTFO which is again similar but sci-fi horror.
Phasmophobia is a fun ghost hunting horror games.
Check out the total war games for co-op grandish/real time strategy, we play those as well.
I think you can play through the various Halo games in online co-op (not splitscreen) if you fancied some nostalgia.
A lot of server-based games allow you to play as a duo or team if you're organised enough to get onto the same server - Rust, Tarkov etc
Assassins Creed Unity I believe.
Dying Light is excellent too.
Borderlands x2
Steam is now offering local coop over Internet too, mostly at the more casual end but might have a few of interest.
Unravel Two is a beautiful game. Looks like you can online coop on PlayStation but not sure if you can on PC.
Multiplayer aside. Play it anyway.
Human: Fall flat looks to be PC online co op multiplayer.
Sea of Thieves!
Serious Sam HD, oldie but great brain out fun, will play on pretty much anything also pennies.
Oh yeah,
Diablo III.
You're welcome.
Just got Snowrunner on the Epic Store. You can have upto 4 players, but if you just want you 2 you can set the session to private. Only caveat is you have to have an Epic Games account etc. to play/DL/buy the game.
It's like an offroad trucking simulator(but pretty arcadey too). Great fun with mates dragging yourself across bogs and up mountains with winches and cranes.
Some great suggestions in here, cheers. We're also looking at Left 4 Dead 2 (fancy something fast paced this time round) but definitely some of the others too.
I've actually got Mudrunner already so that might be worth a go too.
Mudrunner is ok (no idea if it does online coop?) I think I picked it up from free at somepoint. Snowrunner is much more polished.
Ghost Recon Wildlands
Not played L4D in years! Nothing better than freight training someone out a hotel window then ganking the rescuers.
