Real life users feedback?
Are the tools too small to be of use on the trail?
Good way to invalidate your fork warranty?
This is the setup that needs the steerer having a thread tapped into it?
If not, ignore me!
Got an edc and love it. Used it on the trails and it all works fine and is useable. I have the fork warranty invalidating one, think the one you’re talking about is the one that fits inside a pump that you then attach to the frame.
Yep. Looking at the insert that fits into the pump body.
Not keen on the idea of tapping the steerer tube.
It was fine. Did it on 2 bikes, but the pumps are good too.
If you have new form, stick it in the pump. If your fork is out of warranty, get it in the steerer, mine works a treat. Made a couple of adjustments to my kit and I can roll out on day rides with less metalwork in my bag.
I have the steerer one. Great!
If anyone in the North East needs to borrow a tap i have one.
Has anyone actually had an issue where the installation of an edc has affected their warranty?
How different is it to chopping a few inches off the top with a hacksaw?
Anyway, I have an edc on every bike. Steerer mounted on my everyday bike and pump mounted on my winter bike.
I do end up with a multi tool in the hip pocket of my fanny pack that's more accessible but my bacon strips are I the handy storage tube. Nice to have it though when pack free/racing
The pump is pretty good, relatively high volume and the integrated CO2 head is a smart idea. It's heavy when loaded with the edc though so you may need a frame protection patch to avoid paint scuffing as the mount flexes on enthusiastic riding.
Fanny pack.
Yep, best place to put your tool 😉
I've got the tool and it lives in the steerer. Hardest part was paying for the tap. I've used the tool several times on the trail with no issue.
I have a tap. I either in Yorkshire or hampshire. If anyone wants it, let me know.
