Heading to Boston area with work and will have one night and day in the city-any hotel and bar/restaurant recommendations? Is area around Harvard nice enough? Will be driving into town from the South if that makes a difference...

Noob, that's the city of Cambridge not Boston 😉

Anyway, Cambridge is a very nice place to stay and easy to get into the centre of Boston on the T (the underground). You'll have to drive around Boston the get there, but that's not a huge problem unless you're doing it at rush hour.

There's now also a Mike's Pasties in Harvard to get your fix of cannoli's. For a cracking American breakfast hit the Mass Ave Diner. We didn't really eat out in Boston this time round, the places we did sample where awesome Taco bars but they are really more pubs that do amazing food than a somewhere you'd likely go on your own (Lone Star Taco in Cambridge and Loco Taco in Southie if you do fancy it). Russel House Tavern just off Harvard Square was good too

Can't help with places to stay either unfortunately (my annoying brother lives there so we stay at his)

We heard that driving in Boston was a nightmare (from a local) so we dumped our car in the airport and got the metro.

We went out and met up with some friends who lived there. Had a nice meal at The Gallows, a lively bar and restaurant place...

It's no better/worse than any other city in my experience, just got to keep your wits about you when looking for motorway exits and the like (which might well in a tunnel confusing your sat nav). The T, buses and Uber setup all work very well though

There's nothing good about that place 🙁

I use either The Langham, or the Hilton Back Bay.

James Hook for lobster rolls.

Great city to walk/ride around.

Cambridge isn't near Boston, or are you talking about a Boston in some foreign country, not the Lincolnshire one down the road from me?
