Are they playboy bunny ears on the logo or a badly drawn peace fingers?

Mrs Binners is on fine form tonight. When it started, and Mumford and sons bloke came on, she said "Jesus! Have those poor people at the front not suffered enough?!"

When Katy Perry came on "is that Julian Clarey?"

I have the ideal person to ask, and my 13 and 11 yo daughters inform me that bunny ears are part of her image.

Okay, that explains it. I thought it was playboys logo but it's just bunny ears.

Yeah Robbie certainly wasn't as in shape as the take that guys.

My daughter & friends are somewhere in that crowd. I haven't a clue who half of the performers are (definitely not down with the kids me).

Justin Bieber: "We should fight evil with good". They should put him in charge.

I put it on but the kids turned it over as they said it was sh*t. I'm not going to argue with them.

I'm not going to repeat what Mrs Binners has just said when Chris Martin walked on. It'll break the swear filter. But she'd also suggested that the 'surprise' ending would be great if it was Liam coming on and giving him a proper shoeing! 😆

Normally I would never tune in to such a motley bunch of shite, but felt like I should brave it purely because of the occasion...Coldplay and Bieber the worse acts of the night. Fair play to AG though...taking cynical hat off she's been very strong for a mere whippersnapper 23 year old.

Lots of people enjoying the music and the concert performances, lots of people still suffering the effects of the terrorist attacks, and lots of cash being raised to support them, and its free to watch or listen to on the BBC.

Whats not to love, press another button on the remote control.

Fair play to her! Can't have been easy

Please God! Make Coldplay stop! They could raise a shed load of cash if they said 'donate or they'll play another'

Liam next...

To be fair, AG and her team have handled this very well from the time of the attack.

I'm ashamed to say that in a sea of musical shite, I've disliked Coldplay the least. 😳

Can't imagine Liam having a chat with many of the acts back stage.

He should finish with champagne supernova. It's the only song worthy of it.

Some of the vocals were shocking, genuinely. But **** it, the kids there were in another world. Far away from the recent horrors. I take my hat off to all that made it possible, it was like a huge collective therapy group. BZ.

FFS - the performers had very little time to rehearse and they put on a great show in a few days. I think everyone involved should be applauded. I particularly enjoyed Bieber personally but I thought Coldplay shouldn't have had the top billing they got.

@johndoh, I get it pal, not trying to be a dick. It speaks more about the state of modern music than anything personal against the artists. Like I said, I applaud them all for taking the time and effort to make that happen for that city.

Personally I thought it was far to early to be putting a benefit show on, surely the Police must have enough on their hands with the ongoing investigation and protecting vulnerable areas.
My Daughter and Mrs enjoyed it in the other room.

Prior to last week I'd never heard of Ariana Grande, but by way of balance one of the fans on twitter said she'd had to google "Liam Gallagher" during the show. Which seems like it's how things should be. This show wasn't for me, but I'm glad it happened.

Aye, they got a good spectrum of acts to suit everybody. Fair play, they need it. Like I said, one big collective therapy session. Can't fault the spirit of the thing in the slightest.

Why? Show the bad people that they have changed nothing, people like to get out and watch a show.

And the Police would probably like a night where everyone is all smiles and happy after some of the stuff they would have had to deal with at the arena.

And while it's all fresh the Red Cross will get more money. Good work

Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I'm full of praise to Ariana Grande for stepping up and doing it, and the many other things she has also offered in the wake of Manchester, and to the Manchester authorities for saying 'you know what - it will stretch resources a bit but **** it, let's have a concert anyway because we don't give in to shit like this'.

But please don't stop middle aged men from responding in our normal way to this sort of thing either - which for me is gently taking the piss a bit. Because that's normal, and if I can't be a bit normal at times like these then i would just lie down and cry and not get up again.

It's not meant to be nasty, it's my only defence to this kind of crap, to carry on being as normal as I can.

But hats off to them all. A massive gig in a short space of time. That lass (who i never knew who she was tbh) has pulled it out of the bag imo.

I thought that Katy Perry looked more like Myley Cyrus than Miley did 🙂

I was also surprised to learn that Bieber could play a guitar 😆

Wasn't my choice of viewing, but didn't find it too offensive, even if the missus had to tell me who half the acts were

Cheers, Rich

Why would you even watch it? I totally understand the sentiment or donating but why would you wilfully sit through that sugar coated pop dirge?
Fair enough if you are in a school age female household with only one TV but if ever there was an opportunity to read a book/watch an 'art movie' on the laptop in private/ go to the pub then surely that was it.

Despite my allergies to Bieber et al I'll probably watch it on iplayer tonight. Seems like the thing to be done.

I too had no idea who Aria was until two weeks ago, but kudos for pulling off the biggest "**** You" to the terrorists she could have. Huge live concert organised in less than two weeks, proceeds to charity and everyone happy. Amazing effort.

My partner watched it on her laptop while I followed the rather more entertaining commentary on here. OK so it wasn't anything I'd want to listen to, in fact some of it appeared be totally unlistenable but I think it went down well with the target audience and achieved what it was meant to achieve.

Never watched children in need but that hasn't stopped me donating. Just because something is for a good cause why do you have to force yourself to watch it? That's not being miserable or cynical it's just deciding that you don't want to sit through a couple of hours of teeny pop just because everyone else is.
Fair enough if that's music you love but I can't believe that's on your average STW‘ers playlist.
