I have not been in to American hiphop for a while now but I quite like that, it is a bit different to the run of the mill stuff.
Clipping are great - check the stuff from 'Clppng' on vimeo -
Beware - Body & Blood is massively NSFW!
Just listening to some of their stuff on Spotify. Lots of it is very unsafe FW!!
I like it!
Does it mention his Uzi?
This is a bit off the beaten track as well and pretty dark in places, available as a free download :
https://capaciti.bandcamp.com/album/the-blind-cinema-sessions
It took me a while to get into it but I really like it now.

Racist!
I'm not going to watch it as it will not suparse what I have in my head. Hardcore gangsta rap about clipping dogs coats. Imagine all the not misogynistic rhymes about bitches that could be in there.
Generic derivative rubbish .
Not my cup of tea. I have to admit though I prefer hippety hop.
Generic derivative rubbish .
Clueless pointless comment

About as far from Clipping as you could be.
Just watched it. Great video and clever wordplay. Disappointed at the lack of clipping though. Not a dog or sheep in sight 🙂
Nice, I like that! thanks for sharing.
This podcast detailing how they made the track 'work work' is excellent
http://songexploder.net/clipping
As far removed from generic as it could be but thanks for taking the time to construct a sentence. Brrrrap
Yeah, nice of noltae to share some original sounds with us.
I thought that was pretty boring really. If you wanna spin on your back check this out.
No guns, No bitches just badass rappin.
Not seen that - prefer this tho...
& enjoying Loyle Carner just now...
I'm also enjoying Loyle Carner.
Phil Most Chill is a great MC his album with DJ Format is worth checking out

Like the same as it was in 1995. That's boring.
I like this , it's more like my life 😆
If you've got a spare 56 seconds listen to this.
I heard it on 6 music a few weeks ago and tracked it down so I'm surprised to see a 'Clipping' thread on STW. Very bizarre stuff.
I don't have a history of hip hop but I'm loving Run the Jewels and Action Bronson.
EDIT:
Might as well drop this here before I go to bed...
I'm surprised to see a 'Clipping' thread on STW
Hmph. I've been posting about them for about 3 years!
Homeboy Sandman is one of my current favourites
Not to be contrary, as i do think clipping is good. But...........i think that track is a little derivative. That whole one line then punchline thing is being done to death, however i think that may be a deliberate shot at those rappers. It is also done way better than when others have done it.
This is mad nice too
Today I are mostly listening to, "A Tribe Called Quest". Totally missed the 2016 album We got it from here....
DAF!!!
See, when I first heard CLPPNG, I, personally had heard no hip hop before with production like it. The fact that Davved Diggs voice was good was a bonus.
As I say, I hadn't heard any, maybe there was similar stuff out there, if you know of any I'd love to check it out! But this kind of thing was new and totally freaky to my old ears...
DezB is a musical legend
That's a very slight exaggeration 🙂
Pretty cool. Seem to be pretty much exclusively listening to Aesop Rock at the mo, along with HMM
I do hope you have these wilko - https://aesoprockhomeboysandman.bandcamp.com/ 🙂
I do Dez. I love Aesop and Homeboy in their own right but for some reason the LICE project doesn't quite work for me. Not sure if its a clash of lyrical styles, or their voices, can't put my finger on it. Take HMM, Rob Sonic and Aesop together are dynamite.
EDIT Not that I'm complaining, its free, I just don't listen to it much.
Hairy muff 😉
aphex_2k,I'm currently listening to J.Period The [Abstract] vol 1. J-period mix of Q-Tip's best stuff with some original vocals etc. The De La version of Excursions is amazing. Like seriously.
You may already have it. Highly recommended to all the heads
Sound quality is a little off
I can't stop listening to those two Lice EP's. I think they're class. As are the HMM albums and all of Aesops work in general.
This is one of my favourite Aesop tracks
Oh, hear's a great free download for those interested / don't already have it

Excellent
I like Clipping which if I remember correctly was suggested by DezB on a similar hip hop thread I started a couple of years ago....there's some good suggestions on there.
A few tracks I really like that I have only discovered recently:
Another Aesop Rock project that may or may not have slipped under your radar is Hail Mary Mallon
They're touring just now. States and Canada only unfortunately. I have even half considered going to one of the more interesting places for a wee holiday to see them. I think it would be an amazing gig.
Love this video of them rehearsing. Got to see Big Whizz playing with (what remains of) The Pharcyde recently.
Ah, turns out it's DJ Abilities on that
I love that ColdCut & Roots Manuva track
a similar hip hop thread I started a couple of years ago....there's some good suggestions on there
I was quite excited on there! Last few years not been quite as good... ended that thread rather negatively too, sorry about that 😳
So on a slight tangent, I've just started watching Luke Cage on Netfilx & have just noticed every episode of named after a Gang Starr tune.. how cool is that?

I went to the cinema this week and one of the trailers was for an animated film that looked like an X factor type thing. One of the characters was singing an old Digital Underground tune (Humpty Dance)!
My favourite Digital Underground Tune:
DezB you did start waxing lyrically but it was a hip hop thread after all,
I have been checking all the Aesop stuff out, a fair bit I hadn't heard before so cheers for that.
I love this old one...I remember listening to it on repeat...a lot:

Sing isn't it? I've been listening to Scroobius Pip's podcasts & it's director is on it this week it's got about 80 tracks in it, he's got a broad musical taste of loads of people you've never heard of.
Was showing a mate some stuff today...including Zeroh, he found this set on yt. Cool as...
Always good to see Clpping getting out to more people 8)
For those Aesop Fans:
I quite like Homeboy Sandman but Aesop shows him up a little on this EP as just being so super smooth.
If you like it the follow up is also out:
The Run the Jewels albums are very good too. Was listening to them on 6Music this morning 😆
This is very good also:
Foreign Beggars
Worth a listen. Just found them. Impressed.
Oh... Dirty Dike anyone? Lyrics are RAW
NSFW video....
I like Romesh Ranganathan and I like hiphop, so I like this series of podcasts!
