It's almost as though they've tapped into my subconscious 😀

I shall be giving one of those a try for lunch tomorrow, and report back.

Cheers for the heads up!

Well I for one am glad that pastry-based news stories are finally being given the prominence they deserve in the mainstream media.

I've always found it depressing that stuff like chocolate and ice cream always receives disproportionate attention in the press. Its one of the last remaining injustices in our society. Way worse than racism, sexism or child abuse

The samosas from Ali's in Smallbridge were delightful today.

Size of a Peter Powell stunt kite too.

Just thought I'd share

Just for clarity - Is that a kite flown by Peter Powell, or one with his picture on?

Is that some kind of bizarre BBC sex scandal metaphor?

{Pedant mode} The pasty in the photo was not cut by that knife {Pedant mode} 🙂

I dare say it's also not two halves of the same pasty.

Devious bastards!

My uncle had a Peter Powell stunt kite. It was ace, but contained no boiled egg.

Ooh look, you can still buy them! probably not that Peter Powell.

That isn't a pasty, it's an abomination. Crimp isn't on the side.

Don't you remember that time U2 crashed their kite into Mr Khrushchev's garden and he refused to give it them back? Apparently they didn't have enough Elevation.

Presumably that knife is for the application of ketchup.

Nah. Truth was he couldn't give it back, because he still hadn't found what he was looking for.

You know when your walk into a room at a party, and quickly realise that everyone in there is stoned off their heads. That's how I feel now after reading this thread.

I think it works better than a scotch egg with a cornish pasty in the middle.

Surely if it contains egg then you'd need to eat it with baked beans rather than mushy peas. Peas and egg?

Tried to get one this morning on my way in. None to be found in Rammy Tesco. I'm off to see if I can find one locally shortly. I shall report back

Pah! Tesco is mocking me! It flaunts internet photos of the mythical scotch egg pasty, shimmering before my eyes like a distant mirage, but in store...? None! I'm presently consulting my lawyers regarding my enormous compensation claim for the trauma caused 😥

Erm, I believe what Tesco has done is provide the recipe, not the actual end product as such.

Binners, I suggest you delay invoking your legal team as they may see fit to charge you for failing to read - and research - the post diligently enough.

I was once expounding the virtues of my mid ride scotch egg to one of the vegans of this parish, touting it as a balanced meal, breadcrumb carb outer, tasty meat midsection, it was only as I was about to mention the healthy veg centre when my brain finally caught up with what my mouth was saying 😳

The "pastie" in question looks like a travesty to pastry based comestibles
