I'm very excited by this news. I've looked but can't find a link. anybody?
My summer vacation plans hinge on this as I have all of August off. Hire a campervan and do a road/mtb trip in the UK for August vs go to Europe and do the sightseeing thing.

Sorry. It's shortlived. From weatheronline:

"Pressure should begin to rise through the third week of July, bringing at least a brief but pleasant spell of summery weather, that said it won't be 'blistering' either and there'll always be showery activity in the forecast.
As we move into August the pattern again shows signs of destabilising with low pressure taking hold once more from off the Atlantic, more general rain and cloud affecting all regions of the UK."

They really cannot forecast that far ahead with any acceptable degree of confidence

Nor can they forecast what will happen from next weekand with any confidence, You'll just have to rely on the STW weather stone...

The first week in August is always dodgy, it's Cowes Week and of all the years I've done it 4 out of 5 have had some sort of rain/wind squall.
Then it clears up.

I predict the same this year.

I have given up on the summer, I have my fingers crossed for a cold winter with lots of clear crisp days. Where do I want the jet stream to be for that?

I'd been predicting 23rd of July for it to snap out of this current spell, for some time, I'm hoping it holds good, it's a depressing nightmare, not to mention what it's doing to trade..

Looking out of the window currently, it seems there is a strong chance of a miserable depression hitting very shortly 🙁

I'm bored of all this rain now!

In "sunny" Hove it's chucking it down again.

We've had the Cows back in the shed att he Farm and they've already munched through the early cut of grass and last night Rob worked through the night to bail up the stuff he cut down late last week.

Farming eh!

Not a chance, that water has not been approved by the sponsors therefore any attempt made by the water to enter any of the venues will be curtailed immediately.

This "Summer" has done it for me.

I came back from California about 2 years ago & really threw myself into just getting on with taking what the British weather had to offer..

No more.

This climate is, sadly, really really cr@p..

Days I can put up with but weeks becoming months? No, there are better places to live I think if you like & want to enjoy (rather than endure) your outdoor sports.
