I went over to Stratford on Sat, (just for a ride around the park, see what my money has been spent on etc. (since I don't think I'm actually going to watch anything over there.))
Observation
1) It's Biiiiig. I mean it stretches miles and miles.
2) It's not finished by a long chalk, too many diggers still digging and lighting being put up etc.
3) Lot's of security, I mean.. L O T's of security and people movers/shepherders/tannoy shouters.
4) Nice people that work for the Event. I asked some pretty stupid questions just as a little test and they all were really nice and very very helpful.
5) John Lewis building is the largest department store I have ever seen in my little life. It practically dwarfs the stadium.
6) BMW's everywhere. No really, BMW I think have the concession for transporting folk and they have in one carpark alone (rough count) 150 cars waiting to be used, so if you are after a 1 owner after the event, you may be lucky (take the stickers off mind)
7) I spotted the velodrome (after some Event folk not knowing what/where it was) but it was in the distance and I couldn't get over there due to building work closures.
8) Police everywhere, it was the opening ceremony I guess, but riding down the footpath on the canal I spotted 4 burly PC's in a dory half sinking..(giggled)
9) It's worth going to see where your moneys been spent.
