No wonder, she's from Atlanta. They had the Olympics there in 1996, and they probably had those same rules about only paying sponsors being able to use the word "Olympic" and such.

Thus the tattoo artist had to make a minor change so that he would not violate copyright and whatnot...

If she was Irish, it probably would have said O'Lympic.

The tattooist would have used a template that transfers to the skin for guidance. He/she would have shown the customer before they started with the needles. They might have even used a design given to them by the customer (I've done that) so it's both of them at fault.
