OLEV ev chargers and warranty

We have an EV charger that was installed under the OLEV scheme which I believe had a minimum 3 year warranty. As part of that scheme the charger had to be smart. While our charger still works if you plug the car in the smart element is broken and has been for over 70 days since a platform upgrade. There has been no progress towards a fix and without the smart element the charger is very limited, i.e. you cannot set charge rates or time of use or lock the charger. I think this should be something that should come under the warranty but have not got very far. Does anyone have any experience of claiming against a warranty for a software failure.

Surely if their update stopped it working it’s up to them to sort even if out of warranty?? Any chance of asking to revert to prior software?

The update is to the backend platform sadly. They (enel) wanted to move all users to a new app and in the process broke a certain subset of customers. The backend can no longer communicate with a range of devices. The device itself was installed by a charger installation company (who I assume my warranty contract would be with) but made by a second company (EO) who bought in the smart part of early models from Enel. It's a mess basically.

Let me know if you want to replace the charger! I work for a company who manufacture these (in the UK), 7Kw models. Full technical support and a proper 3yr warranty included.
