You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Ok so I have an old Technics SL-BD22 turntable that’s a good 25 or so years old and was part of a separates system, the CD player and tape deck are gone but I still use the massive bulky receiver with the turntable which works fine but is a big unsightly box and takes up loads of space
I’d like something more compact, that can also link to phone etc via Bluetooth for streaming. Am I correct in thinking I need a pre-amp and an amp to run it through my Gale speakers?
I’m not looking to spend massive amounts of money and have seen some Fosi Audio stuff I like the look of -

I know nothing about audio equipment these days, anyone any experience with the above, or can recommend something else for a similar price (say £200 max) or another solution
Cheers
Im pretty sure i have seen a thread like this before on STW and the recommended amps etc were the poorly named 'nobsound'.
They do look very similar to those you have highlighted.
I dont have them, but a forum search may help

Also streaming audio via bluetooth is quite poor.
Yamaha do a lovely streaming device that you control via BT on your phone, but it connects to your router, so things like spotify etc sound much nicer

I'd be tempted by this.
You'd also need to add a phono preamp like the one you posted though cheaper can be had. The advantage of the amp above is you can at a later date add a streaming device via the optical input for better sound.
Have a look at the cheapaudioman channel on YouTube for some reviews.
There are several things on that Douk amp that are not required. VU meter, tone controls and valves.
Can't comment on the phono stage but I have a couple of the fosi bt20 amps, sound great for the price with bookshelf speakers, tried one with my Dali concept 5 floor standers and it sounded crap. I'd say go for one of them if you are using bookshelfs 👍

I bought this phono pre amp

perfectly adequate.....and it's got valves ! Fosi,Douk and Nobsound make great value stuff often the same stuff but rebranded so don't let the snobs put you off. Watch their items on ebay before you buy then then ebay contacts you with a seller discount.I've had 3 amps from douk and two switching boxes all great gear.As above check out Cheapaudioman's reviews. I've not bought the cheaper amps but many get good reviews. I got this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274637704027?hash=item3ff1aecb5b:g:Yk8AAOSw5WhhRWj~ as well as two others. One a hybrid/valve with BT and USB and digital inputs and subwoofer output https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283952191085?hash=item421cde966d:g:pK0AAOSwxaZgnEz0 and the other a full old school valve amp which is ace https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285016226148?epid=23016482680&hash=item425c4a7964:g:HKgAAOSwuddia1af.
McIntosh have produced some lovely stuff. That one simply looks like a way to separate a rich fool and his money.

I'll take "define analogue Hi-Fi in the 21st Century" for $200 please, Alex.
The Fosi X2 gets really good reviews (cheapaudioman youtube for one)
$70 AUD so probs 40 quid or there about. Can't go wrong.
