Wondering if anyone knows how they work.

I have found some old certificates 14th issue from 1974 that i was given by my grandparents. It's only a few pounds and just wondering if they have any value? they just say £1 becomes £1.34 after 4 years.

I suspect it's a fixed term certificate, which could affect what happened to the money after the term expired (i.e not much)

Have a look on nsandi.com, I think there's a calculator on there - you might have to ring them up to see what it's worth depending on age.
