Having created a huge database in itunes, the PC went belly up last week. All the data (music, videos etc) are on my ipod. When I get a new PC, is there an easy way to 'sync' the PC with the ipod or is it a case of starting from scratch again?
Do a google for this. There seems to be a mine of info about this, which i found useful when using non-intuitive (to me) itunes.
When I transferred from one PC to another, I put the ipod into disk mode, so it transferred the library as a file (i.e. it operated as an external drive into which i dropped my entire itunes folder).
No idea if the old PC isn't working at all, though!
Just found this that might help - there is a bit about recovering from an ipod if your computer gives up the ghost.
