Any thoughts on this?
1. I'm working at home almost totally now. I use a laptop, and an old set of computer speakers to do all of my MSTeams stuff. Around mid afternoon, I tend to put some music on- laptop Deezer streaming, to get me through to the end of the day.
2. I'd like to upgrade the speakers. I have a cheap (£20) digital amp and am looking on eBay and Gumtree for something old and sub £50 to go with them (Q Acoustic, old Gale 2i's Kef Coda)
3. Question 1. I won't open up issues around feedback loops or anything by doing this will i? I get nothing at the moment, but just checking.
4. Question 2. Would I be better in buying a decent bluetooth speaker, that I can use all around the house, and when we go camping as well?
Absolute quality is not an issue. I want an upgrade in quality to make my new workspace nicer but its a balance. Does a decent bluetooth speakers compare at all to old hi-fi speakers?
I have done something similar to what you are proposing, using a Logitech Bluetooth unit playing through an old (40 year old A&R Cambridge A60) amp that I bought in the early eighties and initially used some cheap Wharfedale Diamonds I bought off eBay. Total cost including decentish speaker cable £75.Sounds good to my old ears and no feedback.
I subsequently moved the Diamonds to another room and bought some Mission LX2 speakers and this did bring a significant improvement to the bass but were obviously more expensive.

In response to this alone, personally I don't think Bluetooth will even come close to a decent hi-fi speaker. If you go bluetooth it's for convenience over quality most of the time. Sometimes portability, sometimes for streaming options.
My home office now has a stereo pair of Yamaha Musiccast speakers WX20's, but I already had MusicCast in the lounge, bedroom and kitchen so it made sense to carry on the theme.

This. You need decent sized boxes for decent bass. And the drivers will be way better quality too. No comparison.
Absolute quality is not an issue.
Then a good BT speaker could be an option. Decent sound quality, smaller footprint, portability and cable-free until it comes to charging.
I have this:

And it sounds great. Has a Sony app too so you can adjust bass, preset EQs etc..

AudioPro says you're wrong - spendy though

You can buy proper active stereo hifi speakers with bluetooth built in.
Thanks all. Good advice as ever. @derek_starship thats exactly the Lepy I have sitting around unused, and downstairs I've got some Gale 2i's still in the kitchen which must be 25 years old! I quite like the second hand re-use angle so will keep looking on Gumtree/eBay. Thanks for the advices.
