Ripon Motor Sports Club have rally next Sunday, 10th Feb starting in Thirsk, with stages in Cropton Forest & some near Ampleforth.
Has anyone been & is it worth going? Last rally I went to was the RAC (when it WAS the RAC!) & god knows how long ago that was.
If you haven't been since the RAC days you may be shocked at the amount of rules/regs and spectator safety. Not that it is unnecessary, just it is a completely different experience these days.
Yes. I made that mistake. Used to be a regular RAC man in the days of Makinen, Mikkola, Waldegaard etc. Even pushed a Stratos out of Radnor one year!
Went to watch a stage in Lakes 18 months ago. Strewth. Could hardly do anything for rules and regs. Ever since that woman got killed in Scotland they seem to no longer want spectators...unless you are in a paid for section.
