He's lucky - if the knee-jerk ideas to arm the police had been implemented, he'd be dead. Like that poor sod who was gunned down for carrying a table leg.
"sorry"?
I don't think "sorry" is going to cut it his time. Someone needs to lose their job and this chap should be handsomely compensated.
Not surprising people have a low opinion of the police when things like this happen. From Simon Harwood (literally) getting away with murder to a bloke being jailed for wearing a T-shirt offensive to police, it's rapidly becoming an “us and them" culture.
Just this morning someone here recovered their stolen bike only to be told by the police that they'd already closed the case.
The police officer in this case should face charges of GBH, but, of course, won't.
Despicable. And wholly unsurprising.
Must have been a bit of a shock to the poor man when that happened.
Yeah but it was his volt really
Mr Farmer was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.
😆
It's the dog I feel sorry for. He earthed through the lead 🙁
Shocking.
On his way to the pub? bet there was a bit of a buzz about the place when he got there.
Plebs.
Ohm-ygod Is this current?
I wonder if he offered much resistance?
At least it wasn't terminal.
I reckon they should be done for assault and battery.
They should be charged with assault and battery
*edit- 13 seconds out!*
Was he on his way ohm?
WATT? You'll have to speak up.
I do like it when we get current affairs posts on here.
With the Police carrying Tasers, there was always the potential for this.
I bet it really hertz being tasered.
It's happening with alarming frequency. Sine of the times.
I bet it really hertz being tasered.
That would probably depend on how often it happened
It's happening with alarming frequency. Sine of the times.
It's just a passing phase.
Maybe the police should be a bit more neutral?
Maybe he made a run for it and they tasered him to impede his progress?
Take them to court, see what the Circuit Judge has to say
Listen to you lot getting all amped up! Anyone would thing you were all wired on something.
Did anyone see this live?
I'm surprised a taser story can generate so much attention.
I was probably a Detective Constable that did it.
Or an Assistant Commissioner.
The PC clearly had an un farad vantage...
The un-wave-ering arm of the law. That policeman may have been too short. Perhaps he needs another outlet.
He was positive he had the right man.
How retarded must the folk in that village be. White cane= sword
Plebs - typical police
If I were him, I'd pylon the pressure for compensation.
stevewhyte - there was actually a guy with a sword. Just not this guy! Not the villagers' fault.
Its not a village it is a market town
The UK police are becoming more and more violent as well as less and less intelligent, might not be a bad idea to take note!
Looking at it simplistically, I don't understand why the officer would feel the need to taser him, the victim was blind. The only way I can see the guy would know the officer is talking to him is by refering to him as "blind man". Shouting "You with the sword" isn't going to stop someone not carrying one.
Ohms my god.

Well spotted, thank you for bringing it to our attention; I'm sure none of us here have ever thought or said anything on such a subject. 🙄
The police should have just convinced him he WAS carrying a sword. #helpourboysinblue
I think you're all glass half empty types really.
Think positively, they didn't execute him in cold blood by emptying their pistol magazine into his head at close range!
