Crown Prosecution Service authorises police to charge Rolf Harris with 9 counts of indecent assault and 4 of making indecent images of child
🙁
Don't know what to think anymore...not Rolf surely.

Making indecent images of children? Can you guess what it is yet?
Very disappointing, burn him if it's true tho!!!
Please don't be true.
I like it when 2 little boys is on the radio.
and 4 of making indecent images of child
He hadn't finished those pictures, they were actually a horse, a new york skyline, a spacemen and a tree.
Joking aside, it makes you wonder whats left to come out. Sad, and very disturbing.
...with my extra leg, diddle diddle diddle um

Innocent till proved guilty. Isnt that how it works?
^ This. always this.
I doubt that the prosecution has got this far without a reasonable amount of evidence. And not wanting something to be true doesn't actually make it so.
(Edit) - just realised how snotty that sounds, but I have serious doubts that he can now have a fair trial, and would have to concur that due to the press releases, etc, the evidence against him has to be pretty damning.
Sad, and very disturbing.

Childhood hero. Him and Tony Hart are partly responsible for my career path.
As a drunken twentysomething in the 90s I met the guy and saw him in concert half-a-dozen times (with some sense of ironing, he aded hastily). That said, his live-act was genuinely entertaining - you haven't lived till you've heard him [s]play[/s] murder Stairway To Heaven live on the wobbleboard.
He even drew me a Rolfaroo.
No more heroes anymore.
Regardless of his guilt it's another piece of my childhood tainted by grubbiness.
I still cling to the likelihood that Noggin the Nog was ok.
and Bod.

he did Glastonbury one of the years I was there.

FFS 🙁
Come on then, who joined his 'club'?
Cripes 😥
If proven to be guilty he should be chemically castrated.
Or put into a normal prison i.e. non sex offenders.
He'll probably end up sharing a room with Stuart Hall and be out in 3 months.
Let's just hope he kept his hands off the poor animals in "Rolf's Animal Hospital"
Basil Brush is looking like the only one left standing...
🙁
I always liked Rolf.
I was well chuffed when I went to his house back in 2003 for a wedding reception. His adopted daughter Seiwa (sp?) married a mate of mine. Chatted to him and had the obligatory arm-round photograph.
Gutted.
I decided there's a point, a line in the sand past which I simply don't care whether or not some kid's tv presenter is dodgy. And that point is Glen Michael. Up til then, they can all swing but he's got carte blanche.

Him & Bod..

Innocent till proved guilty. Isnt that how it works?
I think everyone actually wants him to be innocent whereas with most of the others I think secretly if not overtly we really want them to be guilty.
Sh*t. Gutted.
Basil Brush is looking like the only one left standing...
I heard allegations of fisting
....Glen Michael. Up til then, they can all swing but he's got carte blanche.
Does that mean what you think it means ? 😐
Roland the Rat's gonna get done for interspecies next.
f*ck him and tony hart...
b*stards never showed my paintings!!
Is Pob left standing?
that's my childhood ruined
it'll be Noakes and Johnny Ball next
Gutted if it's true gutted for him if it's not - No winners in this one.

It does- literally a blank card which you can fill in what you like, but more colloquiallly it just means free rein to make up your own rules. Any other questions?

Same here. I was in Rolf's Cartoon Club, I had a badge and everything. 🙁 I used to try and make cartoons in Deluxe Paint III on my Amiga, but I'd always run out of memory because I was trying to do 24 frames per second, because Rolf had done a feature on the making of The Little Mermaid, and said how Disney's animators were working at 24fps.
f*ck him and tony hart...b*stards never showed my paintings!!
Tony Hart showed one of my paintings, it was of a swan. Probably the pinnacle of my artistic endeavours.

Just one yes.
Are you saying that its OK if he is a Peadophile ?
He can do whatever he wants, because be has Carte Blanche.
Whats French cuisine got to with it
I wonder how representative yewtree's investigation is, or was, of the general population.
Perhaps he should have hs didgeridoo tied down
Basil Brush is looking like the only one left standing...
Nah...
it makes you wonder whats left to come out.
That's what got him into trouble in the first place.
Are you saying that its OK if he is a Peadophile ?
Jokes really lose their magic when you have to explain them don't ya think?
As despicable as these allegations are, why do the courts allow the publication of identities before any trail? Should he be found innocent, he will always have this hanging over him. On the other hand if he's proven guilty, hang the b*stard.
It's purely up to the good people of Singletracktowers, of course, but does anyone else think there should be a moratorium on "celebrity paedophile allegations" threads? I say that only because they never produce anything good, often upset people, and frequently contain borderline defamatory stuff which would make even a publishing megacorp nervous.
Charged with 4 offences are of making indecent images of a child in 2012
2012????!?
(the typo is from the Daily Mail, not my fault)
Jokes really lose their magic when you have to explain them don't ya think?
It didn't come across as a Joke to be honest.
Which is why I asked.
It's sad to think of a childhood "hero" turning out to a scum bag.
Then, just take some time to imagine how the victims must have felt all these years.
At least Tony Hart was just a playdohphile.
flatboy 😆
Wait until that tied up kangaroo finds a good lawyer.
playdohphile.
That was Morph, and his mate who no-one can remember the name of. (Not Mr Bennet)
and his mate who no-one can remember the name of
Milf?
CHAS
I am not sure what is so great about him as he is just a tv presenter.
Why people are so attached to celebrities I do not know.
🙄
this is not celebrity worship, he was a childhood role model and an icon.
sad sad news.
What a load of balls. Even as a child (and that was a LONG time ago) watching the talentless twonk on black and white BBC television (one channel only) I knew he was a total "light entertainment" 1950's bore.
What IS the matter with you people? 👿
I wonder if Lizzies portrait he did is still up at Buckingham Palace?
He has royal connections so I'm sure this matter will be "dealt with".
Woppit you are a insightful genius what more can be said 😆
I'm always on unclear on the 'making' indecent images bit. Does it mean he actually went out and took indecent images of a child or that he just downloaded/purchased them? If the former wouldn't there be a another child or more who were also sexually assaulted in some way by him?
Anyone want an autograph with a rolpharoo drawing?
i agree with (someone above) re:
nobody should be named publicly until something is proven.
if they are guilty then hang the bastards, by all means, but until proven in court the general public should not be told about this type of thing.
it really could ruin a mans career when he could in fact be completely innocent.
my mum once said to me that she reckoned there were a lot of nervous old men in the world, seems she was right.
Very sd news.....
I bet Gary Glitter is sitting with his coat on waiting for the knock at the door again.
Just to think when we were kids all these tv personalities were part of a huge ring ( I guess) and we were all completely blind to it all.

How many convictions so far?
A guy I used to work with inherited some cash a few years ago and he bought a couple of original Rolf Harris artworks. At the time his reasoning seemed sound, Rolf is an old guy, very famous and once he kicks the bucket the paintings will be worth considerably more than he bought them for.
I wonder how he is feeling about his investment now. 😯
Torminalis, a chap I knew at my rowing club bored the shit out of me one day telling me about buying some Rolf Harris originals. He'd shelled out quite a few thousands on them too.
+1 on the keep it quiet until proven guilty - this trial by media does no-one other than the media any favours and leaves anyone in the public eye open to exploitation by fantasists and gold diggers.
INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY ought to prevail but look at the comments on here already, mud sticks.

In general I agree. however, in these cases it is often the publicity around one accusation that draws out other victims to come forward where previously they might have been afraid to do so.

I think it is terrible when innocent folks are dragged through the media. However, were it not for the Saville documentary, would all of those other victims have come forward? Would they have been able to make that show about the monks in Wales or wherever it was that which resulted in several people coming forth and thus strengthening the case against them? These were both aired before the living people who were accused were even charged, should they be illegal too?
The police are usually pretty cagey about revealing whom they are investigating, but once a charge has been brought, there is a certain sense in appealing to the public for further evidence for or against the accused.
"I`m a Celebrity, get me Out of Here" takes on an entire new meaning.
Sad and disturbing as already said...
Just Noel Edmonds to go

Only to you, the rest of us got it and laughed.
Muppet.
assuming hes guilty then its sad(for the victims) but cant see why people are so shocked
celebrities are people too, just as likely to be arseholes as anyone else
Im sure plenty of people have no idea that friends, relatives etc are abusers
He should have gone to India and committed his crimes without this sort of recourse.

Is there anyone left form the 70's who hasn't been implicated/charged?
Is there anyone left form the 70's who hasn't been implicated/charged?
Weirdly.
Ian Krankie.
Now Jimmy Krankie always confused me:
*IF* I were to fancy her/him, does that make me a straight, a gay, a paedo, a milf/gilf/dwarf-lover, and/or a uniform fetishist?
Help.
