spotted a rat in the back garden! obviously i want to kill it and it's chums to death - humanely or otherwise - but certainly not in a way that harms next door's (rather useless) cat. So STW experts - what's the strategy??
I don't suppose just leaving it alone is an option?
I've got a couple of rats in the back garden. Quite cute really if you watch em for a while. Mind you I haven't seen them for some time so I suspect something else has eaten them.
Fairly pointless exercise imo - you will then have to deal with the rats which replace them.
A much better solution would be to remove their food source - eg. secure bins, keep any food for wild birds out of reach, etc etc
air rifle is the most fun, a big plastic box full of semi rotten meat and vaseleen smeared arround the inside is most effective.
