Someone has been leaving the door from the garage into the garden open...
I know it's a complete mess, but how did I miss this until today?

On the upside, it does solve the mystery of how so much bird shit got onto my saddle. 🙂
is that a jackdaw?
I can't quite make it out
It's like a bloody 'Where's Wally' poster.
there isnt much you can do apart from leave the door open. nesting birds are protected.
Idiot blackbird. Wasn't planning on evicting it. Luckily I can leave the side door open. Can't imagine the eggs are viable though, she hasn't been able to get in until just now.
thats a shame. Blackbirds are ace.
Consider putting some bird boxes (and bats) up etc to entice various birds onto but not into your shed? swallows swifts and housemartins etc all need help!
There are a few, but the garden is so busy that the blackbirds fight over the best spots. Last year probably the same bird nested (successfully) in the ivy right by the door, and we spent the spring trying to make sure the local cats didn't get them.
I think there's one in the greenhouse too, but that isn't really a problem.
Am i going mad? What are we looking at here?
The blackbird that is owning a pair of bombers.
but how did I miss this until today?
Because the place is a mess and I still can't see whatever it is you think you have found.
I see WCA has been busy knocking up some shelves again - quality work! 🙂

Lockheed SR-71. With some bombing capabilities, it seems.

Oi! I still have all my fingers. And scrap wood is scrap wood. 🙂
Thank God, another human being who uses a shed to dump crap in and not as an exercise in japanese minimalist juju
're the blackbird, give her a name and welcome her to the family
but how did I miss this until today?
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see?
Did you fashion your shed out of bits of a sinking ship, Shackleton style?
I'd possibly consider drilling a hole in the door to let her come & go. Are you sure she's not found a way in on her own, building a nest takes some time.

People who don't have a bottle of port on their workbench (and a WWII wargame underneath it) are just losing at life, IMO.

Mostly out of an old climbing wall I had attached to to the joists. Top shelf is our previous dining tabletop. Judging by how keen she was to get in this morning, she's had no access.
Going off piste, are you clamped on a dropper post?
Yeah, the top tube is a weird shape, and it hasn't done it any harm. I know opinions are divided on this...
My shed's waaay messier than that. It also has a wren nesting in it, as well as mice that have eaten all my sponges.
Ah, you need to zoom in to see it :). That's rather funny
It's easier with the direct link Zoomy Version
Where the flippidy is the bird? I can't see any bird or a nest and it's driving me nuts now! I'm feeling the 'where's Wally' reference strongly myself!

Victoria, or lemon?
On top of the black box with white tape near the ceiling - thanks for the zoomable version
Ha, when you know where it is it becomes obvious!!
a WWII wargame
I love Axis & Allies! Got a very battered set in the cupboard here.
That’s making my OCD tidiness problem go off the scale.
is that an unopened bottle of port on the shelf?
Post it back to tf tuned.
Ahhh, I looked at that about 3 times and thought it was a small tub or similar.

She looks a bit annoyed at you being there tbh.
I doubt it'll be there long, the baby robins in our garden have hatched a couple of weeks ago.
The TF tuned taped box, cheers.
Regarding the Blackbird let them come and go then sort your door when they finally leave if that's an option.
Get a sparrowhawk?
OK. We've had the warm up.
Where's Wally - round 2!

I. JUST. WANT. TO. FIX. MY BIKE. 🙂
Did the bird remove your ceiling?
Hmmm, tough one now. Give us a clue? Birds? Cat? Mice?

Same!

CSI North Yorkshire. ENHANCE!
Birdy on the handlebars. You clearly have become attached to her and brought her inside to help
I tried getting her to hold an allen key, but she just flew into the window and shat herself. So better than your average LBS mechanic. 🙂
So, the nest is currently empty...
Can I legally remove it at this point? Would be better for the bird not to have to put up with my clutter (plus then I can shut the door). I suspect I've already disturbed the building efforts.
They have multiple clutches, don't they?
I love our blackbirds - just idiots, the lot of them. 🙂
It seems only half built, and the bugger is still hopping around after me with mouthfuls of construction materials.
It's illegal to move it.

Is there not a window/something else you can leave open to allow access?
