I've just received a Seiko Samurai Save the Ocean for my 50th.
The strap was too large so using my watchmaker’s tools, I set about
removing two links. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the pin and collar* (tube?) arrangement.
This morning, my watch fell off my wrist (it's okay) and I have lost some components of the bracelet.

I contacted Seiko "customer service" this lunchtime and was told 1) they don't send parts to customers direct, only to dealers and 2) the pin and collar are not available as spares alone; they must be supplied with links (££££££££). She also said "we don't recommend you adjust the bracelet yourself." Well it didn't say that in the effin' manual...

Does anybody know the dimensions of these parts so I can source some online?
I've googled but haven't found what I need. I've found a supplier, just need size info.

Thanks

* A royal PITA

Contact whoever you bought it from, then?

Don't you have the ones from the links you removed?

Man buys / receives £400 watch, fails to shorten bracelet properly himself, probably voids warranty by doing so, proceeds to balk at cost of having it done properly, hmmmmm!!

You just need the collars for pins and to get the pins in the right way round. YouTube videos available.

Check the links for collars. If they're not there you can remove the ones from the left over links (unless you just removed one link you'll definitely find some).

You can buy generic collar tube type stuff to replace them with (watch part online shops etc), but you have to cut to fit.

Take it to an independent watch maker/jeweler - they'll probably have generic pins that will fit just fine.

This would be my first thought.

Or this as a second.

Think yourself lucky, in the first couple of weeks I clattered mine against a hotel door handle and put a shiny scuff down the side of the matte case.

Not a single jeweller I’ve asked will touch it, so it’s still there for another two years  until first service. Is it just me that always puts a dent/rip/chip in a new item immediately?

Nice watch btw and happy 50th 🙂

Cousins (sp?) Used to do pins and collars for various Seiko bracelets. If not Google a guy "yobokies" who does bits for seikos. You could also Google Seiko USA service Coserv I think they were called, they used to send out 2-3 links and associated parts for free. Maybe only to US addresses though. Seiko UK service have a bit of a reputation for being seriously unhelpful. My bracelet came apart at the clasp and the pin was lost. Seiko service sent me a new one (actually 2 ) in the post.

put a shiny scuff down the side of the matte case.

Get yourself one of the foam blocks that pedicure places use. One side will probably be a reasonable facsimile. Then get a set of the 3 M sanding sponge things like the green/blue pot scrubbers but they do them in all sorts of colours that are different "grits" blend until you are satisfied.
Seiko didn't used to redo the finish on case/bracelets like Omega/Rolex do.

Thanks, but in my hands I can foresee that ending up looking like the side of my leg after I fell off a projectile-skateboard as a 10 year old, in shorts 🙂

As an aside, the medical treatment at the time was fortnightly trips to the doctor who would disinfect the leg, put webbed gauze all the way up the side of my leg - and then two weeks later after scabs had healed over the gauze he would rip it off. And I mean rip. Rinse and repeat for many, unbelievably painful, visits.

Mrs S found a pin in the carpet and I had a collar from a removed link.
I've fitted them properly and all is well.
Thank you for the helpful responses.
Steve b77 can do one. What a waste of typing.

I feel your pain those collars are tiny, I mean really tiny and not an obvious thing.
Well done to Mrs Starship, she must have very good eyes.
