This.

But it has nothing to do with Burnley.

Have you seen Shameless?

Do you recall the race riots?

What's the worst that could happen? You'll find out soon enough - when they're at home to both Bolton and Blackburn next season

I'm from Moston. Red Lees Road can't be any worse than that, honest.

Do you recall the race riots?

Yup. My mum was from Lancashire, my dad from Yorkshire. I really don't know which side I'd be on.

Good spot that - straight up and over to Hebbers. Lovely ride up past Hurstwood etc.

Just get used to saying "do you not" a lot 🙂

Back of Towneley Park.
Nice estate - bit Margo and Jerry, but they'll get used to the smell.

Found no end of lovely houses in Rossendale:
Weir, Water, Helmshaw, Bacup and Haslingden, to be specific.

This one's a bit smaller, but right on the edge of nice countryside.
I've been living in Tod for 20 years, how 'odd' can it be?

She's from Blackley, you've not been allowed to do that since the 50's.

Oh, beer?

Will have two new locals to disgrace myself in. That posh one in Worsthorne or the one with all the flags outside on Burnside Road.

Stirling Courts nice where my best mate lives. Just like any town, closer to the town centre the shitter it gets. I felt safe in Burnley drinking even when i opened my gob saying i was a Bolton fan. Had the piss ripped for it it tho.

You left Tod for Burnley???? 😯

I kind of felt a bit odd when I first moved to Tod, on the 'yes, I have seen beyond the valley' scale but Burnley is way more scary.

You left Tod for Burnley????

I know.......just as they've done up the Mason's as well. 🙁
Look, you're up on the tops, I haven't seen sunlight for 20 years young lady.
We did look around Tod, but the only nice one we could find (opposite the old Hollins Pub) had already been sold.

Well, I voted for Tony Blair's mother in law last time, how much more 'interesting' can it get?

I'll tell you once, and I'll tell you firmly.
I never, ever want to go to Burnley.
What they do there don't concern me.
Why would anyone make the journey?

Andy

I assumed you'd bought the whole estate TBH.

You must have been able to buy one of them with the spare change down the back of your sofa.

Bikes will be fine.

Not sure that Walsden really counts as 'the tops'.... and yes, the Masons is now looking pretty good. Must remember to call in more often.

Er, good luck with the move 😕

Thanks, I think! 😀

I have enjoyed living in Walsden, but I need a change.
And seriously, I'm on the main road, it's darker than a coal hole picnic down there.

I'll miss Jeanette's happy smiling face in the shop every morning 😯 , the sounds of the trains, the climb up Rammy Wood road, all the local cheek and Keema Chips from the English Chippy on Halifax Road.
Still local enough to ride back from time to time though.

Give Paul the mechanic, Cockney Ben, the two Richards and James & Thea (plus new baby) a kick in the parts from me next time you're in the Masons. 🙂

I won't miss the smell from Tony's though.

If you drive a Mini, there is a nice aftermarket shop I used to frequent when I lived up that way, called Minisport. Even if you don't have one of the cars, it's almost as good as an LBS for hanging out in and talking parts.
