I'm still sort of getting around to this...a couple of questions that i cannot (quickly or easily!) find the answer to!!
1. Do i need an email backup agent such as Veeam if my mail is hosted with MS on the 365 platform?
2. Where would i point my MX records at?

2. At the O365 instance. Once you sign up it will walk you through this setup. From memory I believe you have to add a file to your dns records to verify ownership.

That really depends on whether the Office 365 retention (Not backup!) meets with the RPO/RTO of your business. Veeam Created a product because Microsofts built-in policies don't work for all customers.
