Fed up with the silly bits of rubber strip Thule supply to reduce wind noise round the bottom of the bars beyond the feet.

Is there some sort of waterproof tape that would do the job?

Is that not going to fall off pretty quickly?

Mine didn't on some home bodged canoe padding for our steel bars.

Heli tape

Or the traditional STW answer - knackered inner tube. Cut yourself a sleeve and slip it over the bars. Might be more plus size than roadie.

Are they really that much hassle? I thought they were fit and forgot. I actually have two sets cut for putting the bars on either of my vehicles.

What exactly is the issue with the rubber boots supplied by Thule? I've had several sets of Thule roof bars over several cars, some more permanently fixed and some only fixes as and when needed and I just struggle to understand what your issue with them is?

Probably fitting incompetence but I find them a bit of a fiddle to fit, and a right pain to look neat, especially out towards where the end caps push in.
