I agree, the ultra overt product placement is invasive.

everything else has had terrible screenwriters, including Roald Dahl, who introduced most of the nonsense that is still pervasive in the films, unfortunately.

One closest to the books is from Russia with love.

Connery is the man. Nuff said

If you don't love a Bond film then you have lost the 7 year old boy inside you.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is by far the best vintage film and Casino Royal the best modern take.

The books are great but they are a different experience to the films.

Worst, the one with the blimp over San Francisco. The The Lazenby one with Diana Rigg, loved that one. Was never a fan of Connery. Quite enjoy the Craig ones.

Seen one Bond film, got bored. Never seen Star Wars or Harry Potter and don't own a telly but full of infantile enthusiasms. So nerrr.

Bond films should be regarded as cartoons, not filmic art, then it all falls into place.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is my favourite. I liked Quantum of Solace and couldn't really see what all the fuss was about with Brosnan it just seemed more Moore era. Die another day definitely the worst one for me.

I'd like to see a Never Say Never again remake - keeping it out of the official films. Just a way to do some of the people who have been or should / could have been Bond. Idris Elba as a new one or more entertainingly Brosnan as a returner. Although the latest one might just be Never Say Never Again anyway.

By far the worst is Die another day, although Quantum of sausage runs it very close.
They are great escapism movies, where you can suspend belief for a bit, and all of them are very much of their time. Personally I love the Moore entries the best. Even when (as he admits himself) he was too old for the character, he still played it just right.
The product placement is just part of the package - even now I'd do bad things for a white esprit or a winterised Aston V8.

Bazz, funny you should mention that. I've had comments from neighbours about the laughter coming out of our place.
