It's a two week half term holiday this year and we're planning a 9/10 day family trip to somewhere warmer in Europe (probably Lanzagrotty).

I recently realised that the dates are 20th October to 4th November i.e. including a certain 31st October.....

What could possibly go wrong? Should we wait to see if anything is clearer? Book anyway and hope it will work out somehow? Book but go early and come back before 31st October? Give up the idea completely as a risky idea and book a rainy cottage in Wales?

If you are planning to do any driving, then sort out an international driving permit from the post office. Had to as we were due to be in Holland when the last deadline passed, 🙄

worst case no flights into UK. unlikely but totally upto the EU open skies. To be honest the only thing I would be concerned with is the exchange rate.

Why would you be bothered about Halloween? 😉

Same here, me and the Mrs are in Crete and fly back on Nov 1st!! To be honest, more worried about missing the rugby World Cup final!

We’ve booked to go skiing at Xmas - reckon the EU will have pulled up the drawbridge by then so we might not get a visa 🙂

Best case scenario you could claim to be stateless and go for asylum.

Feeling slightly smug we unwittingly went for a staycation this year in October. Realistically I’d imagine the worst that will happen is huge delays. We’ll all be murdering each other on your return though so you’ll need to decide which side you are on before you step through boader control or you’ll just become a serf or meat depending on how tanned and tasty you look after a week in the sun.
