Looks like a dose of antibiotics in my immediate future.
Give it to me straight doc. Does that mean I can't drink the rather nice champagne like planned at New year's?
Bugger! Little wee bitey bastards.
No pictures?
My love handles are private Tom
Didn’t realise ticks were still active this time of year.
Depends on the ant-biotic that you are prescribed. If it's the standard, Doxycycline, you should be fine with moderate alcohol but be aware that some folk experience nausea or gagging when taking it. It can be a bit unpleasant but is way better than not getting treated..
And you'll have to avoid strong sunlight....

Less active but still possible.
I didn't actually see a tick so it's really a spot with a feint bullseye round it. But I was sitting about in glentress the other day*
Regardless as highlandman says, dose me up just to be safe.

@jam-bo, I've taken ticks off folks in the Scottish Highlands in every month of the calendar. Historically, you would probably have been right in assuming that they're dormant in winter but not any more.
Bit like assuming it's always safe to drink hill water in the Highlands. Not if there's any danger of any people having ever camped upstream of your location or if any dog may have crapped anywhere near the riverbank. There's now Giardia endemic in some water courses for these reasons and it's spreading gradually. People have brought Giardia protozoans over from north America and rescue dogs have brought it in from eastern Europe as well. Times change.
If doxycyclone, can still get sunburnt on a rainy day in February. I think sun reaction gets worse with repeated doses. I had it as a malaria prophylaxis for a few months years ago and then it didn’t affect me but I’ve had a couple of week / two week courses since then which has played havoc with skin sensitivity

fair enough. Down here in the tropical SW I would mostly associate the highest risk of ticks with bracken and that’s died back.
thank goodness its not your balls that look like a bullseye! horrendous title.
wish you well.
Got a docs appointment later. Feel totally fine but want to make sure. Spare a though for the poor hedgehogs they have it worse.
Bastardy little things.

Can take several months for the bullseye to appear too

Pretty confident in this case I picked it up 5 days ago. If I picked one up at all obviously!
Doxy for a couple of weeks.
