I'm after some new lenses for my Half Jackets - genuine Oakley black iridium are around £50 but I've seen some by a company called Revant which are less than half that price. The question i suppose is are they any good?

I have some of their polarised photochromic lenses and they are fine. Not tried their iridium lenses.

Anyone know if there are goggle replacement lenses out there? I have a Crowbar ski goggle and just want a cheapy clear lens for endoooro races but I'm as well just buying a separate goggle at the price.

Two pairs of original early 90's Frogskins, one has its original lenses in, the other has Revant lenses after the originals went missing following them having prescription lenses fitted for several years.
It's impossible to see any difference when wearing them.

If you know anything about the history of Oakley and Frogskins, then you can tell which are the originals. 😉

The reflective coatings wore off all my revant lenses 🙁 but they replaced them happily under warranty, for them to wear off again

Seems like it might be worth a punt then. There are many good reviews on Amazon but quite a few commenting that the lenses won't stay in the frames - Revant claim they are faulty and offer a refund. Black Polaroid lenses are £25 compared of Oakleys £85!

I've got some Revant lenses in my Flak Jacket XLJs after the originals got too scratched (kids!). The lenses are slightly thinner than the original Oakley ones but they fit and look fine.

What on earth are you using to clean them? I do use the bag that comes with the lenses sometimes*, but mostly these days I use lens cleaning wipes I get cheap from Wilco's, even quality microfibre cloths get mucky, and it's all too easy for fine grit to get into the weave.
*making sure it's always turned inside out to clean them, then turned back.
The only issue I've had with a Revant lens was a dark mark in the lens itself in a pair I bought to replace another pair I'd managed to scratch quite badly, which was in the Frogskin in the photo.
I took a photo and sent it to Revant, who were really chuffed I'd taken the trouble, they didn't want the faulty lenses
back, and because they were a bit tardy sending a replacement pair, they sent my a neat little cleaning kit with spray cleaner and lens cloth, which was sweet of them.

The mark on mine is a roughly rectangular magenta mark towards the right-hand side of the lens.
Nothing on the surface, or visible on the mirrored side, must have been a flaw in the base plastic of the lens blank.

What on earth are you using to clean them?

Just warm water and the inside of the microfibre bag, same as you. I seem to remember the first ones that wore off I hadn't even cleaned yet- by the time I got home from their first outing on a wet road ride there were dark blotches where the reflective layer was gone.

The rest of you seem happy, so hopefully mine were just a faulty bunch! 🙂

Another vote for Revenant, however the colour they picture are a wee fraction off what they really look like imo.

Revant is how I upgraded my Fives to polarized without having to get a second mortgage, very happy with them.

I ordered them from Ebay.com rather than ebay.co.uk, got them for £15.40 instead of £25 on the UK site (or £85 from Oakley)...

Well they arrived today - they are much thinner than the Oakley ones but fit my frame okay. Optical quality is not as good as the Oakleys but for the price I can't really complain.

So, slightly regretting getting the polarized lenses now - my iPhone looks very dark and I can't read my iPad at all unless i turn it on its side! This morning at the petrol station I thought the pumps had stopped working as there was nothing on the display!!!

They are polarised, but the polarisation is 90 degrees out, so useless.

I got some for Square Wires. They didn't fit at all. Got soem Walleva ones that did.

It wasn't even realistic to send them back as they came direct from the US. Amazon kept that little nugget to themselves.

Oakley don't look that overpriced once you see what you get £35

Yeah, been there, I had some expensive Rx lenses made up for a pair of Rayban Lennons I got off eBay, and I was recommended having them polarised on top of the DriveWear photoreactive tint, not realising that Mac screens and iPad screens are polarised as well!
