Anyone got a pair of Oakley or any other clear frame sunglasses and find they aren't very good because the frames refract the light at the edge of the lens, causing uncomfortable glare at times?

Bought some Frogskins last year. The lens are great but the glare from the frame makes me not want to wear them at times

I had frogskins bitd with clear frames, no issues at all, and i am quite sensitive to glare.
Are you certain your eyes are ok?

I’ll never buy a clear framed pair, too bright

What lenses do you have in them?

Have had similar with other glasses with clear(ish) frames. Would never buy anything with a clear frame again for this reason. However, happy with a solid framed pair of Frogskins. Worth trying to find someone with solid frames to give them a go?

I was recently trying out some Oakley frames from in a shop which is one of the biggest sellers of the brand in the area. The shop owner warned me off clear frames with polarised lenses due to refraction (?) from light hitting the frame. Which kind of makes sense and backs up your experience.

Never fancied clear framed sunnies for that reason. I’ve got a pair of SunGod Classics, basically RayBan/Frogskins analogues, with a translucent tortoiseshell frame and gold mirror lenses, and they let a certain amount of light through, but I wouldn’t want any more than that.

My original 90’s Frogskins have black frames for that reason.

Sounds exactly like it.

I see @Chipps has the exact same glasses going by this picture from the article on the Fuquay frame

You could pop the lenses out and rub the frame down to create a Matt finish, alternatively contact Oakley, their warranty is excellent, they might help you out.

They must work really well as he evidently couldn't see shit when he was getting dressed. 😁
