One of my M-frames snapped when fitting a lens earlier this week 🙁

Boxed 'em up, sent 'em back. Next day a call comes from a cheery lass at Oakley asking what colour I'd like as a replacement, and quoting a frankly ludicrously cheap price.

"Excellent", says I, "I might even have these to take away to go skiing with..."

"Well", says the cheery lass, "We'd usually only be able to guarantee them in ten working days, but I'll see what I can do"

Postie arrived today, as I was packing, clutching in his paws that tell tale Oakley returns box, complete with my frames. 😀

They really do provide what has to be the best level of customer service in the bike industry. Brilliant! Thanks, Oakley, and thanks to the cheery lass! (Sorry, forgot to ask her name, and no, I don't have any pics!)

I'm off to the slopes now! With a full ballistic box of O-matter goodies! Have a good one, all!

it's almost as if you're paying for a no-quibbles warranty upfront

Great to hear that Oakley service is still great. Oakley got bought a while back and I feared service might suffer. One of the few companies that are great to deal with. Glasses are expensive but I reckon quality of optics and product backed up by customer service justifies it

+1 a thousand times over for Oakley customer service.

I've broken 7 year old oakleys and returned them and probably the same cheery lass called me up and was profusely apologetic that she couldn't get them repaired as they were too old and they no longer carried spares anymore but would I like a 40% discount on a new pair.

Snapped some full metal jackets (?) (i think?) and had new frames refitted with the original lenses for about £10-15 (from memory), outstanding service.

Mate of mine trod on some e-wires (or perhaps a-wires?) and bent the frame.
He sent them off to Oakley & was quoted £17 for a new frame.
When he got them back, a small scratch on one of the lenses was missing, so we reckon they just gave him a new pair for £17.

Warranty/customer service is not much use if you lose them like I inevitably would though. 🙂

Nothing but praise for Oakley. Excellent customer service is the main reason I keep spending ludicrous amounts of money on their glasses

Have had good and not so good experience with Oakley warranty issues.

Couple of M Frame replacements for a tenner and one other jobsworth who insisted they couldn't do anything to help [same frame issue]

But let's not fool ourselves, the frames must cost pence to make.

if you have massive margins on your products then you can afford to be generous with your warranty conditions.

think of it like you bought ten pairs in one go and they are looking after nine of them for you....

I have used them 3 times and they have been brilliant. They just offered my wife a decent discount on some new ones as her very old wires couldn't be fixed.

yep agreed - have various good things to say about them, eg. got a pair of their glasses that i then sat on and broke about three days later. took them back to see what i could do about getting them fixed, guy at the shop just gave me a fresh pair without me even asking. makes you feel guilty about how accommodating they are!
