Holy shit! 5 quid for a pissy pint of lager in a plastic glass. They certainly know how to charge 😯

You're lucky you got a whole pint and not just a can of Tuborg turned upside down in a plastic cup!

Apparently in the Manchester Academy you can download an app to order your can online and get a discount on the bar price?!

Woah there, what's this!? I'm off there on Friday to see shed 7. Don't suppose you get a special collection point to cut out the queue!?

No idea, some girl who worked there was going around telling people about it but she came to us after we'd already bought drinks so fobbed her off

You're getting ripped off. Its only 4.75 at the O2 in Newcastle. Mind you at those prices there are no queues.

"what else did you expect?"

Now I've been to a lot of gigs, I've drank in a lot of cities, lots of festivals, even the odd posh hotel, I didn't expect five quid a pint in what's supposed to be a "smaller" venue that promotes live music. It wasn't that much at frank turner at rock city the other week, so much to your suprise probably "I wasn't expecting that"

So have I, over the last forty-something years, and the one constant, with very, very few exceptions*, is that practically every venue charges the earth for booze. So I don't buy any. Also means I don't have to relinquish my space at the front to go for a piss.
Anyway, I'm there to listen to music and watch the artist, I'm not there for a piss-up.
*One of which is St Bonaventures in Bristol; a venue attached to a Catholic Church, as a result, booze is very, very cheap. 😀
