I'm not a 'brand man' by any stretch of the imagination, if I can the Lidl version cheaper, I will. But I've never found a suitable substitute for KP dry roasted peanuts.

I don't think such a thing exists.

Never been keen on dry roasted.

Now, salt and vinegar peanuts! They are bloody lovely.

To answer the question, Pistachio nuts are the the best nut.

My mate used to work at Aldi, apparently their nuts are KP nuts and bread was Warburton's (from memory)

Their legumes may be KP peanuts, but they're definitely not nuts.

Yes I used the term nuts to express my frustration at not finding a cheaper substitute from KP dry roasted peanuts. It wasn't in any way related to the topic.

I'm in agreement with you OP. In the same vein, spicy doritos can't be imitated. The Aldi version is very tame indeed.

KP dry roasted nuts and cold beer are the staple for my summer night ride rehydration stop. I don't think a greater combination exists.

Honey roasted FTW

But Walkers Max ‘wasabi’ peanuts are even better

Coop dry roasted are not bad. I like to support Coop, they seem like good guys, and the nuts are OK. But they still seem a bit meagre compared to the majesty of a KP Dry Roasted.

Have not tried Aldi fellas, will do so!

Honey Roasted Cashews FTW.

As far as dry roasted nuts go. none of the off-brand offerings are as good as KP, no matter who actually makes them.

Dry roasted peanut are like crack to me. Doesn't really matter what brand, I will consume all available. Once ate a family bag in one sitting and didn't feel well at all for a couple of days...

Thought this would be about the abundance of nuts nature has kindly produced this year.

Did he work in a store, or in the purchasing or development department? Unless it's the second then he's as likely to know where their nuts come from as the rest of us.

I used to work in food development and can tell you that yes, stores use the same factories, and no, they don't all use the same spec. Like bikes, just because the Merida factory builds a Spesh, it doesn't mean that the Spesh is the same as a Merida. Or, to use an older example, Bianchis used to be built in a pram factory... 😀

Edit : I've just looked at the ingredients on the nuts in question. They are different.
