As far as good nutrition goes, i'm happy with the water only approach, but why are black tea, black coffee and red wine also often considered acceptable?

Don't they contain antioxidants? which are good if you have too many oxidants.

Erdinger alcohol free beer - no antioxidants, but isotonic.

As for the list of drinks above, any fluid is better than none.

Antioxidants stops you cells getting damaged, calories make you fat. So they don't really cancel each other out in that respect.

in weight loss terms I think they are allowed as drinking them stops you getting hungry.

That's what I find anyway, once its about 7 in the evening I have a glass or two of red and it keeps me out of the cupboards
