We have a (just) five year old Fox Red lab. Always had labs, put the 15 year old big fella to sleep last autumn. Plan was not get another one. Plan did not survive first contact with a puppy! 10 weeks old, bred by a friend of ours and the last of a litter of 10.

Lola is like- WTF is THAT..

Picking her up Friday, expect zero sleep for a few days after that... name TBD. I'm thinking of 'well I won't be getting a new bike frame then'... on that note we did consider a rescue and I feel a bit bad for not giving a needy dog a new home. But, you know puppy đŸ™‚

That's with her big (half) bro, but she's going to stay white apparently. Perfect for where we live surrounded by muddy woods!

She looks lovely if a bit bold already!

Luca was  the spitting image of her at that age, he says hi from the Malverns

Would post an image but the icon has disappeared

Not far from us @jimw - still have the icon here, I must be one of the chosen few đŸ™‚

I reckon she's waiting till we get her home to show her true personality đŸ™‚ Sadly my preferred name of 'Bam-Bam' has been veto'd on the family WA group!

I recognise that view đŸ™‚ Must get back up there with both the dog(s) and the bike!

Looks like Luca stayed white as I expect our new pup to do so as well.

Looks like Luca stayed white

yes, whilst he has become subtly darker-champagne?-he is still pale. Well, at least he is until he gets muddy. Two tone would then best describe him

If you have one called lola you need to call the other one Ferrari.

I'll put it to the vote, but not expecting it'll get adopted. My mate's great big hairy dog is called enzo (he's a big Ferrari fan- the mate, not the dog) which definitely suits that mutt.

I would have thought LMP or Ford was more aligned with Lola....

Our two say hi from Essex. Herbert - shortened to herbs, herbal and the obvious herbie, and Mason - rarely shortened to Mace.

Waffle is a new pup in our class - I like that

Herbs Mum and Dad are cleo and walton. Mason's - cleo and clover.

Gorgeous pup but boy are they tiring at first. Our next one will probably be October, not looking forward to the sleepless nights and the garden breaks every 20/15/10/5 minutes !

Excellent names đŸ™‚

Yeah it's tough for them to be away from the only environment they've known/their mum.  Got to be patient but firm. Like when kids were young đŸ™‚ We intend to leave her with Lola for a bit of company. I expect Lola will be on the phone to the RSPCA citing animal cruelty after a couple of nights!

We gave away our crate, but we do have a kitchen with a tiled floor so that's where she'll be sleeping. Or not sleeping. I'm also getting the vacuum serviced đŸ™‚

We did say 'no more pups' but we knew that wasn't ever going to happen.

Doggo now being collected tomorrow (Thurs). I'm in London sadly. Still I'm sure my reward for not being part of the collection crew will be a night awake due to dog howling đŸ˜‰

Currently puppy-proofing the kitchen (tiled floor for inevitable accidents) and moving anything within distance of small, sharp teeth.

I expect to come home to a confused pup and an even more confused Labrador đŸ™‚

Good luck with introducing her to what will undoubtedly become her new best mate and an update would be appreciated!

I'll be sure to post some more pics when we've got her home. Some of which I expect to be titled "nibbled labrador ear" đŸ™‚

Collected. All a bit sad leaving her home environment. Now at our house sniffing everything. Has discovered cats. Don't expect that to go well in the short term đŸ™‚

yeah good to be in the garden.. Lola currently ignoring her.. good luck with that!

We'll start taking her out for very short walks in a couple of weeks. I expect to be washing all sorts out of that white coat.  Also expect to have enough hair for a jumper in about a month đŸ˜‰

Such cuteness especially by the bluebells!

"When do we start the clock for the first fox-poo roll?"

Or decomposing hedgehog as mine used to do.

V cute, IMO there are only 3 naming conventions for dogs.

  1. Standard vanilla dog name: Rex, Patch Pip, Scruffy  those sorts of things
  2. Normal human name: Brian, Edward, Donald, Graeme, and insist on never using a shorted version of it.
  3. Extremes: Fluffi-wunnikins, or Killer-bastard. That sort of thing

Anything else is just wasting everyone's time

Brian is obviously the best name for a dog. Sadly she's of the wrong gender.

I've always QA'd any name choice by the test "would I be prepared to shout it at a busy park Fenton style?'

Which puts my current preference 'bitey-rug' out of the running!

mmm we really don't want two similar sounding names. Currently Lola has her 'as the hiring manager, why was I not consulted on this extremely annoying new addition?' I think it might be a few days/weeks before the whole 'you're my best mate' thing happens đŸ™‚

Our last retriever before Luca was called Rosie. Did cause a modicum of amusement to those with young children considering my name

also in the early naughties calling Rosie out loudly in busy areas usually had one or two young girls look up at the same time
