A mate has one stuk on his 150bhp monsrter of a kit bike, so that he has a "speedo" to show the fuzz when he gets pulled.

Doesnt work though apparently, but fuzz isnt going to offer to sit on the tank while he demonstrates now is he? 😉

I know f-all about noisy two-wheelers, but since he's a bike nut, builds his own bikes, tries to kill himself on the isle of man every year and that thing looks like the freakish abortion of an HGV and an oil-rig Im guessing it is a Harris magnum frame kit.

I've got a Sigma BC1200 cycle computer as the speedo' in my Lotus Seven inspired kitcar.

It passed SVA back in 2005 with it fitted too. It reads upto 186mph (apparently!) and does all that I need. It was only £20 when a proper car speedo' was £100+

I've seen over 100mph on it - on a private track of course.

some bloke with aero engined Edwardian car had one of those old fashioned cable driven bike speedos on his car for similar reasons.

Asked how he saw it at night he said it was fine, on the overrun the flames from the stub exhausts illuminated it nicely.

ive got sigma cycle computers on both of my motorcycles as they are imports and the original speedos are in kmh i think the cycle computers are more acurate (ive checked them with gps). dont try to use wireless ones though they go a bit mad as soon as you start the engine.

I thought someone had one of these on a motorbike.
I've got a couple of salvaged cat's eye iron road castings that I use as doorstops. Not something you'd want to kick with your bare foot, I can assure you...

when I was a kid we occasionally cut the eyes out of cats eyes and sold them at school - only from a long straight road though, wouldn't do it on a twisty mountain road with dangerous drops.

They were iNvented by an iRishman. From Roscommon I think.

(could be an urban myth. Seem to remember something from when I was a youngster)

I fit them to most of my bikes. Just hope the nice office doesn't press the max speed button.
