But I sincerely hope Anne Sacoolas has a thoroughly miserable christmas and beyond . I really don't know how she can look at herself in the mirror .
Fear either makes you or it makes you into something else.
She's gone the "else" route.
.
It was a terrible incident and she shouldn’t have bolted to the US, but what is trying to be achieved here? Maybe I’m too far on the side of rehabilitation vs punishment scale, but I can’t help thinking this is just a media circus and Harry Dunn’s family are being used.
No winners here.
Regardless of being prepared to come back willingly to the UK and face the consequences or not, I suspect she will be having a pretty crappy Christmas. And life come to that. Not many dangerous driving suspects that have had their identity so widely distributed. Not saying for one moment that she does not deserve it but it'll have an impact. That and knowing you killed someone. Would not want to be her.
but what is trying to be achieved here?
Maybe being personally responsible for your actions and facing the consequences of them?
I think she’s accepted responsibility for her actions. Not sure how a show trial where she gets a suspended sentence or fine helps anyone.
surely if it helps just one of the thousands of US military personnel, diplomats, bankers (and their family members) remember which side of the road to drive on over here and that forgetting to do so has consequences for them as well as the poor sods they will otherwise kill / injure / scare to death then some good will come out of it.
Nate of mine grew up near one of the US airbases I’m the 1970s and he said that visiting it was like a trip to the US as all the housing, shops street furniture were what you’d find over there.
He said that on base they drove on the right and had LHD cars.
If that is/was true maybe that doesn't help and needs reviewing.

Well Harry's parents have welcomed the news that she is being extradited, and I'm sure many of us feel just a little bit better knowing that people who kill vulnerable road users can be (literally) brought to justice.
She’s been charged in her absence. The debate about extradition will probably now be long and protracted. There will be no winners here.
Harry Dunn’s family are being used.
+1
The whole thing is a circus and whoever gave them legal advice to sue the Govt needs to be struck off.
I don't understand why they travelled to the US and were told the woman was in the next room, but they didn't want to see her. I just don't get it.

Death by dangerous driving is up to 14 years isn't it? Don't think people should be getting away with potential 14 year sentences.
