Any tv clever people in?

Panasonic Viera telly about 15 months old
At 545 today I player and other apps working perfectly.

Tv off for an hour then put back on. Now none of the apps work and the tv is saying it can see the router but not the Internet.

Clearly the Internet is working as I am sat 8feet from the tv typing this and watching you tube through the wifi connection.

A quick Google of the symptoms hasn't turned much of use up. So over to you clever folks...

Reboot the router ....... switch tv on and off...... Magic may then happen.

Both tried more than once and sadly without effect.

Have also tried putting the wifi booster next to the tv and then also linking by ethernet cable from that with zero success.

Also should have said the browser app is the only thing that does work (one time in five attempts) so at one point something was making it through

No idea - I have no idea how these things work!

I assumed it was like having a tablet, the app is installed locally and then it just grabs some relevant electrons/magic out of the Internet and makes the Octonauts / Danny Macaskill appear on the screen. I guess maybe not then?

It's got something called shipping condition which I reckon is factory reset by another name.

Settled with some normal telly now so might resort to that tomorrow if overnight magic doesn't fix it.

If that doesn't work it will be time to look out the warranty doc.

Don't know about Panasonic, but Samsung had an issue not that long ago where all their Smart TVs around the world were taken down because Smart Hub went down. Check if Panasonic are having issues.

Also your ISP may be having issues that while you can browse, certain other traffic isn't getting through. Check with them for any outages.

Other than that, maybe the TV has an option to start the Internet connection set up again. That may reset it. Another option is if it's connected by wifi, does it have an Ethernet socket also and if so, try connecting by Ethernet cable to the router, if you have one (and it's long enough).

Factory reset is a bit of a last option as it will wipe all your preferences on the TV, possibly even all your apps.
