I wonder at what point he thought it wasn't such a good idea?

I am guessing when the RAF escort appeared.

Whilst I've little sympathy for his nobbish behaviour, that does seem somewhat steep given the slap on the wrist that most people seem to get these days.

As a complete coincidence I happen to be working in an office right opposite the court where he was sent down. Don't know if it was related or not, but the court has been guarded by armed officers for most of the day. Now that would be overkill

The threat of terrorism has massive impacts. The amount of disruption and chaos that could be caused by numerous bomb threats is huge.

It would actually be a very easy way to cause large scale disruption quickly and easily. You wouldn't need to smuggle a bomb onto a plane or into an airport, you would just need to say you had. Also if your plan failed you could just say it was a hoax/alcohol/antihistamine/depression etc. I wouldn't be suprised if the sentence reflects this.

What's the big deal about him taking an anti-histamine?

Lots of 'em (esp the older ones) don't mix well with alcohol. You know, like when you used to go out on a load of cough mixture for a cheaper night out ?

oh 😳

It's about time they clamped down on the anti-histamine druggies and their criminal/anti-social behaviour.

Ban this evil drug which is responsible for so much criminal behaviour in our society - before it does even more damage.

Can't say I do 😆

I know; Most drugs don't go well with alcohol. It's like the news saying he took some paracetamol. Wow. Hardly worth writing home for I don't think.

Not really - paracetamol doesn't exaggerate the effects of alcohol like many antihistamines do

Ernie's quite right though - probably as much hay fever among pissed-up dickheads brought to court as there is asthma among top-flight cyclists. Someone should do a study, Tom Logan maybe ?

quirrel - yeh, that & others. They have several uses including excuse for ****tish behaviour (I don't think they get you off drunk driving because of the label warnings but good in mitigation when you batter somebody outside a pub)

IMO he deserves it. In this day and age surely its common sense not to make any sort of terrorist threat even as a joke especially while sitting in an airplane.

Oh, I don't know
I was in Jerusalem airport a few yrs ago and some "stoodent" pseudohippy was in the queue near us. Started whining about the time it was all taking and going on about bombs and stuff. He actually got some sort of upgrade - they took him off to an executive lounge ... or something
