745 miles in 10 days and only one short lift on a truck - blimey that would be hard work anywhere but India? Bad roads even worse driving and 30+ Celsius.

Just "wow" - I feel (even more) inadequate after reading that ;o)

Amazing indeed. This bit of the story was more more heavily promoted wherever I read it first.

Kumari’s journey caught the attention of the Cycling Federation of India. The racing body, which sends teams to the Olympics, has offered to bring her back to New Delhi by train for a “tryout” next month.
