I got a nosebleed last night whilst riding. Weird. I've never had one before.
There wasn't a lot of blood.
I was climbing up a local hill onto the moors. It was very cold. The hill is very steep so I was giving it beans.
I tasted blood in my mouth, spat, and saw that the snow where I'd gobbed had gone red. Touched my nose and there was blood on my glove. Got home and there was crusty blood around my nostril.

WTF?

I regularly get them whilst riding in the winter. I think the cold dry air makes the membrane and capillaries in your nose more fragile.

Wasn't it a full moon last night? Do you remember the entire ride?

I was riding up Rooley Moor.
The moor, not the person.

so I shouldn't worry, given that it's my first-ever nosebleed and I've been riding bikes in cold weather for years?

Bizarrely I've been getting light nosebleeds this winter too.
I mentioned it to my wife, who is a doctor, and she prescribed a large dose of mtfu.

Typical NHS. 🙄

It was a joke.

Nothing to worry about at all it's a one of nose bleed and very most likely caused by the cold weather.
