I’m off to Norway (a couple of hundred Ks north of Bergen) for a week at the start of August for work purposes (what a drag!)
I’m expecting changeable weather but, seeing that I’ll be spending plenty of time outdoors, I’m crapping myself that a midge-fest could spoil my fjordland fantasy. Please tell me I’m wrong.
We spent 2 weeks around Tromso and the Lofoten Islands last August. Don't remember any issues with midges. Beautiful place.
No probs I can remember, which given my bad memory isn't a great indicator, from eight years ago in early August.
It’s the parrots you need to watch out for, they can give a nasty nip...
Beautiful plumage, CountZero?
Was there last week and didn't see any. Only saw one horse fly too.
I visited Lofoten Islands Tromso and then headed south, no insect grief until I got to Sweden this was mid July a few years ago.
Sounds promising on the midge front. Thanks for the input.
Damn those Norwegian Blue Parrots!
