Looking to have a couple or three nights later this month - anyone have any hot spots they would like to share, criteria are near a playground and a pub or a pub with a playground !
We stayed at Furrow Cottage, Embleton last year. Nice place just outside town and plenty to do around there
Some great pubs in Embleton
Beadnell ticks your boxes.
Loads of cottages there to rent
Don't go to Amble...it's a shithole!
Alnwick is much nicer. Do you want to be by the sea or more hilly/in land?
Alnmouth. Beach, park next to beach, 3 pubs and a restaurant within 150yds of beach.
What JohnClimber said.
We were there for a long wkend recently - around there you can't really go wrong.
EDIT: The pub at Low Newton is a complete winner (Ship Inn?)
Embleton and Beadnell are good calls Alnwick's playground is crap and currently disturbed by construction work.
+ 1 for Beadnell
Another vote for Beadnell, great beach too.
Low Newton is a good shout. There are cottages to rent there too, National Trust.
No built playground, but a good sized square of grass and a whole beach. I'd take that over some swings any day!
Thanks all some good suggestions there
It's a big county and those suggestions are mostly coastal. Just saying.
He's right ^^ it's a huge beautiful county.
I chose Beadnell because of the beach and I go surfing there, it's lovely and quiet and not far from Bamburgh ..
Have you thought about Keilder Water? There are places to stay in/around there too, oh and a huge adventure park at one of the caravan sites there (can't think of the name)
Leaplish I think. It's fair to say that there are vast tracts without so much as a swing and the coast is lovely but but if all you need is a playground and a pub then there are dozens of lovely places. How about Rothbury?
A new micropub opened in Rothbury last night as an added bonus.
Have a look at beaconhill farm. We have been going there for years

You and me both though it's nowhere near a pub & not much left to book & no partial week lets till November IIRC

Coastal is good, not much availability by we will keep looking
Yup crackers that it's still so busy this time of the year.
& I shall be frequenting the bar in the Red Lion in Alnmouth on Monday & Tuesday evenings. It was fully booked after that.
Rocky Road cafe in Bellingham has self catering accommodation on first floor, three pubs within spitting distance and a playground by the river - don't forget to take a walk up to the waterfall if you go.
