Had a great time at northen grip over the weekend. A lot of beer drank, daft bets taken (really sorry to the guys at the whiskey stand) some bikes tested and nearly bought (damn the guy that got there before me) But it did seem really quiet. I was expecting a hefty amount of people on the sat night but everyone just dissipated. Is this the norm? First time at this event.
There was probably something else on.
We were out in the Dales on Saturday morning. Absolutely glorious riding conditions but it was as busy as a drizzly Tuesday in February. Hardly any cars / bikes / horse walkers anywhere to be seen. Everyone down ASDA stalking up on carling and horse burgers for the afternoon.
I've been to all of them, and have always had a good time. I think there's usually more people there than you imagine from the central hub since a lot of people head out on demo bikes.
Last year I camped overnight and yes it did get quieter once the daytime crowd had headed home. I think that's probably inevitable given that a lot of the daytime buzz is around the stalls which pack up at the end of the day. This year there was more family-friendly stuff too -- a lot of families will have cleared off early evening too I imagine.
aye, ill be back thats for sure.
saw a few good folk there. Everyone was properly friendly and lots of micky taking. top doo.
