Never been to Norfolk so may be there next week & wer'e looking for accommodation. Really fancying a cosy inn near the sea. Decent beer & grub, value for money etc.
Any recommendations?

PS, Cromer & above probably.

My parents swear by this place

Value for money is such a relative concept!

You could try the Wiveton Bell, I've never stayed there but the food is fantastic and the rooms look nice.

The Red Lion at Stiffkey is worth a try. Titchwell Manor might be really rather good place to stay; it’s certainly good for food.

Yep!

We stayed there last August and walked along the Beach from Burnham Overy Staithe to Holkham to Wells Next the Sea and had the full English Class system exposure, which was quite weird. The beach is divided into three separate areas:

BoS is entirely upper class, everyone wore Jack Wills and was called Jemima or Tarquin and owned a boat;
Holkham was very middle class, nuclear families with dogs playing games in the sun; and
Wells was sunburnt overweight men with football shirts round their waists drinking lager from cans, pissing in the flower beds whilst swearing at their children who were running amok..

I was going to say if you go to Holkham beach, beware of overdressing, but it appears it is no longer a naturist beach. I got quite a surprise walking the coast path many years ago!

I believe nudism IS again permitted down that part of the beach, just not in the dunes.

White Horse in Holme used to be great but not been for a few years. I'd get some dressed crab and samphire from one of the many sellers by the road to enjoy as well.

Avoid Burnham Market, its full of Londoners.

Wells has lots of good pubs on the green in the centre of town, The Globe would be my recommendation.

Great Bircham the Kings head has a great selection of gin.

The Lodge Old Hunstanton, Briarfield's Titchwell, The chequers Thornham. Not sure whats north of Cromer though.

Stayed in the red lion a few years ago. It was nice but the rooms (which were pretty new) we really tatty. Hope they've sorted that out because it spoils what would have been a lovely place to stay. Food was good though.
