For the last 15 years I've had some excellent North Face GoreTex ski pants, but they are now getting too small!
So today I went to snow & rock and tried a few different brands. NF still fit me the best, and IMO are not as bulky as some other brands. These ones fitted the best http://www.snowandrock.com/Activity/Ski/Clothing/Pants/The+North+Face/M+Brevant+Pnt+TNF0797.htm
but when I've done a bit of searching the web, you can get various 'mountain' NF pants like these http://www.ellis-brigham.com/cgi-bin/psProdDet.cgi?prod_code_in=205478&transid=&SQLCodeLink=AND~~(prod_cats.category~= ~'Waterproof~Trousers'~and~prod_cats.prod_code~=~product.prod_code)~AND~PROD_MAN~=~'The~North~Face'~AND~PROD_SPECIAL_FLAG~=~'0'~AND~PROD_GENDER~=~'M'~AND~PROD_NODISP~!=~1,pageLimit=0&mode=user&config=&rowsFound=2&srchType=
for considerably less money £140 as opposed to £175! Has any one got any of the NF 'mountain' type trousers, why are they cheaper, or is it purely that they are not marketed as ski gear
Ta
I wouldn't have thought the walking ones would be ideal.
The ski ones are presumably flared at the base to go over your boots, have elasticated cuffs, and should be cut to suit the sitting position.
175 seems like a lot though, even for snow+rock!
I just bought a pair of Burton Cargo pants from Snowboard Asylum for £127 (minus a 10% SCUK discount).
I won't buy north face any more. their stuff is simply overpriced and not well put together.
My snowboard jacket zip frayed on the first trip to the snowdome and the replacement has had multiple faulty zips.
My animal replacement jacket is cheaper warmer and better made.
Do like the look of their Sedition III ski jacket though, but at £400 I think I'll wait for the sales....
back OT, was in TNF shop trying on all their ski pants, but went for a pair of £200 Scott ski pants in TK Max for £30 in the end.
