I'm getting old and I am sick of lugging kit bags around on my back. Also my North Face duffle bag is getting very tatty.

I am looking at getting a new bag, about 100litre capacity, but want wheels.

North Face do a wheeled version of their duffles North Face Rolling Thunder

I quite the look of this one as well Delsey Crosstrip
Or this one Samsonite Paradiver

Can anyone recommend any of the above? North Face quality doesn't seem to be what it was and as they are all pretty expensive it needs to last.

I have a Delsey similar to above ( though a few less outdoor-y strappy bits on it ). Quality is good and it has lasted well so far, even when inexpertly stuffed with slightly more than it should be. It must be about 6 years old now.

Not sure if it has wheels but its an absolute steal at that price.

I use 110 litre deployment bags (the ones the guys take to Afghanistan etc).

Black, tough, can be carried or worn as backpack. Probably not waterproof, but anything I'd want to keep dry would be in a drybag anyway so not a huge issue for me.

You can get them for £10 each!

I have a big 120l Animal trolley bag that's very useful. Easily expanded/contracted with straps etc, and seems pretty bombproof so far. It is BIG though...!

How do you figure that? Just wondering, my TNF duffle has been hammered all over the world and keeps coming back for more. I wasn't aware that more recent versions were soft - my TNF wash-bag has coped with everything that's been thrown at it including rubber ducks. Is it one of those 'things aren't what they used to be' things or is there real substance to it?

Anyway, Osprey does a few including the Shuttle in a 110L version. I've not used it, but generally their stuff is good.

There was a useful thread on here a few months ago on the same subject

My view is that anything with a TNF logo is an invitation for naughty people to nick stuff. There are equally as good products from other companies that are a bit more understated hence less likely to get interfered with. There are airports like Charles de Gaulle, Paris where theft from baggage is commonplace

I've got a Berghaus Mule wheeled 100l kit bag - excellent piece of kit, very robust.

Having owned a TNF base camp duffel for ten years, I can safely say that they are almost the perfect do it all bag. They can be carried as a backpack and whilst being rugged and almost indestructible, they are smart enough for business trips too if you get a black one. Fantastic bags that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend highly. I bought one for a friend recently and didn't notice any significant drop in quality. Not used the rolling thunder but I'd think it'd be up to the job.

Same as Flashy ,I have an Animal one

[img] [/img]

It has been good.
I also have a Berghaus Mule ,but it's non-wheeled 🙁

It does have straps to turn it in to an odd kinda rucksack thing ,if you are desperate to get it off the ground. 😉

Can't see how you can beat this for £40.

I was in Go Outdoors the other day and the Berghaus rollers looked really good and very strong.

I do have a TNF rolling thunder, it's seen a fair bit of action and is holding up well.
