I planned to do one next year, then thought if I'm only doing one in my life it may as well be the toughest. Hence I have just registered for this.... will find out on the 4th Nov if I need to shake a leg....

I'm somewhat fearful and yet..... what's the worst that could happen?

I did the support crew thing for a friend of mine in that a few years back.

Fantastic place to have the event. Real mountains and grim weather potential - proper day out.

Make sure you watch Troll Hunter as preparation and good luck with it!

Awesome race that I would love to do. If I do another Ironman, it will be that one but I am beginning to doubt that I ever will.

My only reservation is that my personal goal was to run the whole marathon and if that marathon is basically climbing a mountain, I am pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to do that. For me the challenge was to race it to some extent rather than just to get through it.

Have fun anyway and massive bragging rights if you finish it.

You wetted my appetite there iDave, but I am really put off by the fact that only the first half of the field gets to complete the race at the top of the mountain and the second half do an easier route.

I'd want to know that I get to complete the race depending on my own performance rather than being able to get half way through the run in the first 50%.

Hope you get to that point in time 🙂

I haven't got a pointy cycle helmet so for that reason I'm out.

That looks a lot tougher than the one I did. I'm sure your awesomeness will see you through. 🙂

I'm not wearing no pointy hat for no one!

My goal, if I get accepted, is to make the front half and climb the mountain. I might even run up it....

DD, which Ironman did you do?

I thought that if you get a black / white finishers jersey depends on a cut off time that you reach the bottom of the last climb not on whether you are in the top 50%
