Paintists of STW, I need your advise please.
One of the jobs which will get done over the next few weeks is a painting of our garden 'buildings' - summerhouse, shed, log store.
Summerhouse is most in need. It has previously been painted with Sikkens Cetol, but it has dried out over time and needs a good rub and repaint.
Any recommendations for a water-based solid colour wood paint which will go on easily, nourish the dry bits of wood and also have a good UV colour resistance?
Thanks in advance.

Unexpectedly, Cuprinol garden shades is very good, and lots of nice colours too.
Sorry nobeer, but I’m finding the Cuprinol truly useless(and sadly bought two big tins as the missus liked the colour and I’m sick to death of the good ole ‘discontinued colour’ trick), “up to 4 years protection”, correct, less than 1 year meets that claim, the deluxe weathershield that I also use manages about 3 years.
Another vote for Sadolin Superdec here
Have to disagree Towzer, shed done 3 years ago, still looks good. Just in process if doing summer house too, nice light grey colour.
Cuprinol worked fine on the summer house i built. 2 coats on raw pressure treated timber. Repainted 4 years later because it had suddenly become the wrong shade of brown for the garden but still fine now 3 years later

+1
I've never used Sadolin Superdec, but I have garden benches treated with Sadolin Classic that must be about 15 years old. Doing some repairs to the legs I realised that the bottom of each leg was effectively hollow, as the inside had rotted from the ground up. The outer 3mm - 5mm, where the Sadolin had penetrated the wood, was absolutely intact.
Bedec Barn Paint.
I’ve used it for the last 4 years or so on a range of buildings, barn doors and exterior joinery. The dark colours are particularly impressive, with no fading, cracking and stays put with minimal aftercare.
In the old days we used to paint sheds and fences with a mixture of 50:50 creosote and used engine oil, can’t imagine that now. Another vote for sadolin superdec Satin now, really good stuff that does last years to justify the initial expense.
