My first car, that. Well, a Fiesta, at any rate, though mine looked more like this.

"The car is on it's origional shell, however very much replaced. All new floor pans, wings, rear quarters etc etc etc where replace. Many original Ford panels where sourced which are now hard to get hold of.

The body was stripped entirely of everything & all new panels welded in place after the shell was shot blasted."

Sounds like triggers brush to me 😉

That's lovely. It's like a small Quattro.

Cougar - snap!

W-reg 1.3 here with twin choke carb. Quite pokey but handled like a sack of spuds. No wonder I wrote it off twice.

Just clicked the ebay advert.

Love the seats in authentic "granny shopping trolley tartan".

Rather have one of these. Superb engine and ground breaking (at the time) handling.

I love the rare cars, & this is definitely one of them. Not sure how many left but somewhere between 20 - 40. Can anyone help on this? It surprises me the way these are currently so undervalued. MK1 RS2000 for instance that there are many many more of are £20k+ for one in this condition. So this could be that little gem that makes a wise investment, with a good return on future value.

Whos going to tell him its cause the fiesters were crap and the rs were the bomb ?

A Supersport was one of the first cars I regularly drove at 17. My mate had one, but he only a provisional licence. I had a full licence, but no car, so got insured on it and drove us up and down the M3 with windsurfing boards on the roof many times that summer. It seemed really fast to me at the time. Happy days.

had two Alfasud's, TI & sport both brilliant, except in standing water where the engine would get flooded & stop for 10 mins to dry off, then off again.
Oh & the rust. Otherwise, great fun, tried really hard but couldn't roll either of them.

I had one that was identical to the one in the OP - OJU 1W was my reg

Had the 'climate pack' (I think it might have been called) - basically a sunroof and headlight washers.

They were only a 1.3l and 95bhp iirc, but my god, it was such a fun car to drive - and in a sea of XR2's, got admiring glances wherever it went.

On a greasy road, it would spin the front wheels on set-off, 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd gear, yet corner like nothing I've driven since - only had a top speed of about 90mph, but would get there with no fuss and go round corners at the same speed. Raced XR2's and even did an RS Turbo with some clever overtaking - pulled up afterwards and was asked what I had under the bonnet - cue amazement at the response of a 1.3 stock engine.

I desperately want another one, but can't justify the price.

I had a RS Turbo Fiesta, used to Torque stear like a bitch, tried to pivot around when you really hammered the brakes and could never beat an Astra 16V.Glad to see the back of it.

Mk1 XR2 was my first car. Used to go through front pirelli P600s like they were going out of fashion.
Had to have a new engine after 90,000 miles after the head went pearshaped and i sheared all the teeth off the driveshaft by driving like a knob 😕
Brilliant little car...until i wrote it off by falling asleep at the wheel 🙁

Best car i've ever had.
