Everyday (several times) all of my browsers stop working and the only way is to re-boot the PC.

I have recently reinstalled Windows 10 and all software and browsers have been updated, any suggestions?

I dont have this problem on my Laptop or using W11 PC, just W10, its not the router/internet.

Can you clarify on "stop working"?

Freeze? No connection? Won't open? Refuse to display anything except cat videos?

I use Chrome most of the time and often when I open the browser it does nothing and it freezes, so I end using Task Manager and ending the task

But the odd thing is, exactly the same thing happens when I try to open Edge or Firefox after Chrome has frozen, all 3 browsers do the same, only by re-booting PC does it fix it.

when it happens next ping the default gateway (your router) and see if that works (to confirm it's not the network stack itself dropping), if it does still work try pinging something like bbc.co.uk (I wouldn't expect it to if multiple browsers have stopped working). If the the latter it sounds DNS/DDNS related, or some router setting restricting connectivity from certain devices under certain circumstances. I take it your internal IPs are all DHCP assigned to?

also, are you using any 'anti-virus' or VPN software?  They could be blocking all traffic

Is this PC a billion years old or new reasonable spec? You say it’s not the “Internet“ but all three browsers not working - I’d be checking connectivity first of all.  Next time it happens try and ping the gateway address - likely 192.168.1.254 but if you open a cmd window and type “ipconfig”, it will list the adapters and  tell you the gateway address next to where it says Default Gateway. To test connectivity to the router you should ping this address and if it responds then try to ping a  website such as BBC or Google. Type “ping 192.168.1. 254” for example and “ping bbc.co.uk”

Also look what’s going on in Task Manager in terms of CPU/Memory usage when it freezes as if either of these are maxed out that could well be the issue also…

Define "freeze." Be specific. Responsive but not loading pages? Any error messages? Are you able to move/resize the window? Window greyed out? Unable to close?

The browser opens and just freezes before the google home page loads up, I can move the window and close it down, no error messages, but as soon as one browser does it then all the browsers do the same thing when I open them.

I have replaced the zonealarm firewall and removed malwarebytes and things (at the moment) appear to be working ok...

So it doesn't freeze at all, rather pages aren't loading?
