Is there any way to convert a normal USB printer to wireless so I don't have to keep connecting my laptop ...and could use iPad to print from ....??

yes, you need to search for a wireless print server.

...and could use iPad to print from

Oh ...... not as far as I'm aware.

Stoner:

yes, you need to search for a wireless print server.

This will not make it Airprint compatible.

what's your budget?

I recently got a very tidy canon inkjet from IJdirect with enough ink to last two years for around £100. Works very well.

This will not make it Airprint compatible.

Stoner, I know it's Friday but please keep up.

Singlecrack, if you want to print wirelessly from an iPad only a printer that supports Airprint will work. The one ^^ doesn't seem to.

Oh and I want one that's cheap on ink ...cos my pixma is costing a fortune ....
